Advice - if it's too good to be true it probably is?

Any advice would be good - as anyone heard of any scams where by British registered cars are sold from Europe (Spain) at extremely low prices?
I have been communicating with an individual who is selling his car via Autotrader (nearly new vehicle at approx £10k below normal prices) - he has been extremely helpful and upfront about every part of the deal. He has financial probs hence requires quick sale, will pay for shipping to and from if I do not want the car, suggested payment method via Google wallet, therefore all the benefits of inpsction by their inspectors, delivery to my house.
Without placing every detail on here, there looks like there is absolutely no risk to me whatsoever, i simply place the money in Goggle wallet and the car will turn up with all relevant paperwork and documents - no import duties as car still registered in Britain.
But it seems too good to be true - and we all know what that means.
Please help or advise if you can as I would love to go ahead but feel like I'm missing something.

    You will be !

both your money and a car !
  • If the seller is willing to take £10,000 below normal price, ask yourself why doesn't he sell it to webuyanycar?

Probably is too good to be true as you say, however it's not as easy to drive a British plated car around in Spain on a full time basis as it was say 5 or 6 years ago.

Lots of grey areas, police being unaware of the rules etc causes grief, plus if permanent the car would need to be changed onto Spanish plates eventually anyway (a costly and lengthy process which is made even more difficult if the owner themselves aren't legally registered in the Spanish system which is often the case)

As a result, it's not unusual to see incredibly cheap GB cars for sale, however 10K less seems a bit much!

Wouldn't touch this with someone else's barge pole, the probability of you loosing your money is high. He could sell it to we buy any car or one of the. Any similar other companies online and spend a couple of hundered quid on a ferry and flight to come here to deposit the car to them collect £10k more a dn fly back to Spain.

Do you really think he would drop £10k for a couple of days travel and a few hundered quid.

The mere fact you have felt it necessary to post a thread asking means you already have a feeling it's a scam, follow your instincts.

If it's a scam you will loose your money and have no chance of getting it back.
  • Costa del sol? Any chance it was used in a bank job, that's why he can't bring it back to sell? ;)

This is a very, very common scam - the payment system varies, originally it was claimed to be escrow or yahoo finance and now it seems to be Google wallet but they're all fake using large well known names to make it look more genuine (yahoo finance doesn't even offer a payment system) and convince people their money is protected when it isn't. Once payment is made to the fake site the scam is complete and there will be no car and no money back.

There's no such thing as 'google wallet'. Google do not act as escrow agents. This is a well known scam.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

    Really?

Although this is undoubtedly a scam.
