No because Scotland will be independent and therefore a foreign country as far as RM are concernedIt does throw up an interesting question about Royal Mail. As a private company will they still have to deliver mail to an independent Scottish highlands at the same rate as the rest of the UK?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I don't understand the big issue. If you don't agree with their policies don't give them your business.A smile costs nothing, but gives a lot.It enriches those who receive it without making poorer those who give it.A smile takes only a moment, but the memory of it can last forever.0

The seller just won't increase costs because its Scotland, as you can see from their pricing structure that if its over 5kg its free so it sounds like they have negotiated certain costs with their delivery company which incurs certain extra costs upto 5kg0

My gran DID read it and assumed it was the Highlands and remote Islands, and she has said to him ,just refund me then and they also have a premium rate number which ebay are monitoring.
As well as not being able to spell their "table" rate they made up includes non existent postal codes , and my grans postcode is not any of those quoted!
I can see where you're going wrong, you've used PRESUME & ASSUME in this post. The answer is to always work with known facts. Ask, don't assume. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
When you said 'an independent Scottish highlands' I was assuming that you were talking about when/if Scotland gets independence from the rest of the UK. In that situation it would make sense for RM to treat Scotland the same as ROI I.E overseasYou seem well versed on this?
I didnt realise this had all been sorted out? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

No - it's very clear why Royal Mail wont continue to offer a "flat" rate to Scotland. It's because it's so hilly. ...
