I took the two MacBook Airs I have, the hinges on which had both broken due to a design fault. They were running 20 minutes late on the day (a quiet weekday) and then I had absolutely no luck in getting anything done as they were just out of warranty. The Genius Bar is not really staffed by geniuses, more like school leavers who like the idea of working in a shiny shop with shiny things!

Some stores are better than others, the Regent Street store has a bit of a reputation of being unhelpful. I would the Westgate White City store to be much better.0 -
I presume you're iPad was in perfect working order before the iPad fell? Take responsibility for your own actions and accept you will have to pay for a repair. Your fault not John Lewis!0

Apple are great at sorting their own products.

first of all it might be worth taking it back to john lewis, you never know, they might help you out.
otherwise you could try an apple store, and they might be able to replace it at a smaller cost.0 -
