I got the same phone call today, some foreign woman asking for my details. I just hung up on her!
I've had 5 phonecalls in the last two days from various telephone companies trying to get me to sign-up! Not meaning to sound racist, but not one of them was English; does anyone else feel uneasy handing over personal details to foreign sounding people, on the telephone?
I don't mind handing over details if I call them, but if they call me I am pretty reluctant (that goes for English people too!)0 -

I don't!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
