Telestunt Spam or Scam?

I was called on Friday night by someone from Telestunt. She said that she knew that I had used them in the past and they wanted my address to send me details of their new prices.
I said that I would just look on their website to find the new call charges. I was told that the prices were not on their website and that only people that have used them in the past could get the discounts.
I told them that I was not interested. At that point I was told "No listen to me, we need your name and address because we want to send you the information anyway"
Again I told her that I was not interested and hung up the phone before she could say anything else.
Anyone else had a similar call. With all the reports that are on the news today about phone scams I was glad that I did not give them any info.

Think of it this way. If you had used them before they would already have your name and address.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -
Thanks for the reply rchddap1, but when I used them I didn't have to set up an account or give any details to them. They are/were a Simply Dial Provider.0

I wonder if THIS x-ref is relevant?Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").0 -
I think it could be a genuine offer...I too had exactly the same call from Telestunt (I think they were calling from Belgium or some place similar). I think they are just marketing it wrong and people are feeling uneasy about the way they are being aproached. I think a better idea would be to give out some sort of promotional code which can be used to access the information on their web site rather than give out information to complete strangers.0

BEWARE!!!
A elderly relative was contacted last week by  freecall uk  asking her to change her telephone to them told them she was not interested, this week has received details of her new contract even though she never agreed in the first place, & trying to get out of this contract is a nightmare they dont answer the phone & if you are lucky enough to get through they put the phone down. Finally when did speak to an advisor very rude & they will not cancel your contract verbally over the phone although its okay for them to verbally make a false sign up agreement the only way out is to send a recorded a letter of your cancellation. I believe this is the company that was featured on ITV news called slam scam http://www.itv.com/news/index.html
So if you receive a call return the favour & put the phone down!0 -
There is nothing in either article to connect that conduct with Telestunt.
Someone posted a thread last week saying similar to daz20.0 -
Hi
I had a same call not sure if it was Friday night or Sat. saying I have used them before and the access number has changed, I told them I was aware of that and I have new number. They wanted my address to post leaflets, I said no thank you I can check them on the internet.
They said ok and that was all
