  • Thanks MG. I forgot to do my lottery this week so I have made £10 OP.
Didn't go for a coffee with my friend - we couldn't make it..£10 OP.
Every time I save ANYTHING on a purchase or an unexpected NSD it's going off the mortgage :)

  • I'm new to posting on this site but I hope you'll get your mojo back soon, :)

My mortgage is at 180k ish right now.. we have lots of family commitments but are looking at different ways to increase our income. I'm a nurse and I don't want to work past 55 full time if I can help it.. i'm only at the start of this mse journey but I am hoping the steady approach will put me in a good place for a race to the finish.

    good luck x

Hello! You're back! Took me a while to realise I know, haha!

I'm another single mum who has a diary on here, but I won't be completing on the "buying my brother out" until next Friday, so once that is done, I can start OP in earnest! Love the idea of random OP when I can afford it.

How do I subscribe to a thread again so that I can e-mails about new posts?

How are you doing? I'm still chipping away slowly. My 2 year fixed deal is up in July!! Don't think I will be in the 60% LTV bracket I need for a low rate with the Halifax. No one else will give me a mortgage!!
Going to do my best..every little helps. I'm off for a week from tomorrow so that helps with fuel and child care costs.

Hi Happydays just wanted to say have read your diary and you are doing amazingly! Like others have said it may seem like tiny reductions in interest right now but it will snowball and make a huge difference in the long run! Best of luck, will pop in again!

  • Thanks jodles16, I have just made a £12 OP.. didn't do the lotto or get a bottle of wine.
Off work for a week now so aim to be quite frugal. I'm having another go at painting my DS's room. Started it in October half term and got fed up. Was going to get a painter in but asked for £150!!!
I'm going to pay £109 as an OP cos no council tax this month.

  • Also, I'm going to pay the £150 off my mortgage tomorrow...will pretend I'm paying myself for painting!! I would have paid the painter that in a previous life :)

  • Just finished cleaning downstairs. I would love a glass of wine but I am determined to use the £5 as an OP.
DD wants tea now so when the floor's dry I'll go and undo all my tidying in the kitchen preparing tea!! It's never-ending.

  • Went out for lunch with my friend yesterday. Spent about £18. Was OK with that because you have to treat yourself from time to time hahaha.
    I still haven't finished DS's room. It's like the 4th bridge!!!
Got his old bed being collected today, then nails and hair in the afternoon.
Made an appointment with H1llarys blinds but even thought the appointment was today they haven't confirmed an exact time.
Having a coffee then back to DS's room :)
