  • It's 2 weeks since I did a food shop. I have had to get bread and milk and fruit in between but thought that was good. I went to Aldee tonight and spent £50. Got loads. Should make this last too.

That must have been a shock with your gas/electricity bill - are you sure that it's definitely right? I was with the same company a long time ago, I switched to Sc0ttish P0wer and have never looked back. I submit my readings online each month to help me stay on track with it.

Ooh I get the 'clean slate' feeling with payday too, it's very satisfying doing to money shuffle and sorting my accounts. Well done on your bargain Aldee shop. I always shop there now, it's just so much cheaper than anywhere else.

It was a shock!! I emailed them but it says it can take up to 10 days to get back to me???? Unbelievable. I just haven't got the time to sit on the phone.
Hope all's well with you - will just get changed into pjs with a cuppa and have a read :)

Yes I bet it was. I hope they get back to you soon with some good news. All is good with me thanks - I've just cooked a yellow stickered quiche from a certain supermarket ready for my lunch tomorrow so all is good in the world. ;) Enjoy your book.

    Right, good intentions again!
I got paid today and I intend to be better with money than I was last month. It is just disappearing in front of my eyes.
DD's room is getting decorated next week. My friend is doing it. She is a stay at home mum and is bored!! ha. I can't wait. She is having glitter wallpaper and a new bed and wardrobes. It will be so lovely. I have tried to keep costs down and shopped around for materials. The wallpaper is extravagant but it's only one wall.
I am going to abstain from wine next month..wasn't very successful in May.
I have just paid my lunch duty payments into mortgage OP. £48.
The bedroom will cost roughly £40 paint, £150 wallpaper, bed and mattress £400 and wardrobes £200. I only need to pay for the paint and wallpaper with May's money. The bed and wardrobes will be June and July.
I am having one more coffee and then I will start emptying her room out so my friend can have a blank canvas. I need to wash the paintwork down and hoover and dust. Aiming at two hours! Then off to the wallpaper shop for the overly expensive wallpaper.

Wish me luck. My car is due a service today. Taking it to the garage at 9. Service is £130 and I think it will need brake pads £60-70. I will finish clearing out my daughter's room which has been a mammoth task.
My friend is bringing her friend to do the papering and I want everywhere to look clean and tidy. I would hate them to think I was messy.

The car was serviced for £130 and the mechanic said that the brake pads weren't worn enough to change - still wear left. Didn't ask how long left or what to look out for. Doh! Will take it in the summer to check them.

Well done on a productive few days happydays. Good news on the brake-pads, it sounds like a good idea to get them checked in a few months though.

    Enjoy your tea.
