Apologies - I have been really dumb here, came up on my search as ending today and I not reading it all so no codes are available yet - sorry for my senior moments. And thanks for helping me out of it all.

I remember seeing these McCarthy people on Watchdog for some reason, maybe the massive service charges or people not being able to sell their gaffs.

My father-in-law lives in a McCarthy Stone property in Scotland. The service charge is very reasonable for the services it includes:- property maintenance, building insurance, gardening, laundry room, emergency care alarm system and use of all the heated public areas, property manager, guest ensuite bedroom (access to guest bedroom in all other McCarthy Stone properties in UK for about £20 a night) etc all this for about £100/month. The apartments sell very quickly.
Best Comp wins in 25 years of comping. Holidays to Hawaii, Toronto, Thailand twice, Dubai twice, Cyprus, Spain, Lake District, Glasgow and London. A couple of £1000 wins as vouchers. 2 Dimplex Fires. Baby cot and chest of drawers. £500 of blinds. Shibumi Jacket. Various small cash prizes under £500 and shopping vouchers. Cosmetics & weedkiller!

    Via the terms:

Winner can permit a relative to live in the complex, or may lease the property

Although that doesn't necessarily mean the winner could not also choose to sell it. It could be that they're assuming the winner will want it for themselves for now, or to lease it until they're ready to live there. I mean, it doesn't actually say the winner is not allowed to sell it on.
