Sorry but I think it is hilarious that men straighten their hair!

Why would it be? It's not my cup of tea either (I don't even straighten mine!), but if a man wants to do it, or whatever he pleases with his appearance for that matters, it's up to him!

Unfortunately, DH messed about with his hair so much in the mullet era 80's and the early 90's that it all gave up and bhuggered off, but trust me, if he had his long hair again, he'd be first in the queue to use the straighteners, vain sod. I'm surprised the makers of gel spray didn't go out of business when he went bald.

My priority is to stay in bed as long as i can. Not bothered about appearance, less bothered than i should be about time keeping.

Do men really straighten their hair?! My OH has a grade 1 all over so I've never seen him do anything with it :)

Being late to work would do my head in and throw me for the rest of the day, I would get grumpy too as I would always feel like I'm trying to catch up on myself!! There is also the added worry that people who are consistently late are watched like a hawk. We had one girl who always turned up 10 mins (when asked why she just said 'I don't know, I just am) after the shift started and was hauled into HR and told that she could either accept a warning or work an extra 7 hour shift as this is what they had calculated she owed them. She was given a printout of every shift she was late for and by how many minutes. She went for the extra shift.!!

Getting to work on time and making sure I look my best are equally important to me. I wouldn't compromise on one to achieve the other. So I am a bit OCD about having my wardrobe organised and being able to get up and out the door with minimum fuss each day. There is a very clear expectation from senior management at the school where I work, that every member of staff should take a pride in their appearance. Also that we set good examples at every opportunity to the children, in regards to the way we conduct ourselves and how we interact with others. Children are what they live and experience and they cant be expected to reach their full potential, without benefitting from positive influences from the adults trusted with their care and development.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Getting to work is my priority, but also to look half way decent too.

I'm not very good at doing early mornings, and I have to force myself to get up to get ready.

But I have an almost pathological dread of being late, so if it was an either/or situation, I'd always pick getting to work on time as the most important thing

If my fella picks up my straighteners to do his hair, I think my jaw would plunge so low it'd tickle the earth's core.

A very famous and expensive brand have bought out man hair straighteners - don't ask me how I know but I have a very handsome (but somewhat vain) son (an he bought them himself)!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
