    Morning.

Washing in machine, no chance of it being pegged out though!

I've got a few bits to do first thing then meeting the girls at Dobbies for coffee :) before work. Thank god it's half term next week.

Got a quiz (again at Dobbies) tonight in aid of the local volunteering organisation. We went to the last one, the food was lovely :) and it didn't seem to drag like some seem to.

Not sure what will be for tea yet.

    Have a good friday.

    Morning. May I join you?:)
It's 18 degrees indoors without the heating on but it feels much, much colder.
The washing's on and I'm aiming to get 2 preferably three loads done before I have to go out at lunchtime. I have tons of the stuff to do over the next week and want to get through as much as possible before the bad weather hits on Sun/Mon.
Treated myself to a full cafetiere of coffee and am seriously thinking about going back to bed to keep warm and get on with some paperwork for the business in comfort and with caffeine! May even make another hottie.
I need to get to the supermarket at some point but not just yet... duvet and accounts are calling!

    Morning all!

It's Friday wahooo, day is off to a good start, OH got up on his day off to make me breakfast and coffee :)

At work, it's going to be very quiet today as not many people are in the office, so will get to catch up on a few things.

I think we're off out into town tonight, which will be good, it's my first weekend off this month, I am so looking forward to a lie in.

Not much else to report -- possibly not a very OS day today. We ended up having pasta for dinner last night, so fish fingers will be today.

    xx

Wet here today as well, I am so glad I caught up with the washing yesterday :D Mind you there are a few bits in the wash bin this morning so that can wait until I have a full load, looking at the forecast it will probably be waiting until the middle of next week :p
    Rant alert!
Going to see the outlaws this morning FIL wants DH to take a toilet and basin up to the tip, it really makes me angry that he only calls on us to do a tip run because our car is the oldest and he doesn't want to get his new car dirty nor does DH's sister who has a jeep :mad::mad:. I keep telling DH not to do it, but he doesn't listen, we can't afford a new car if anything goes kaput, but they can.
I need to pay some bills today and I will get DH to take me round to the co-op to pay them later, other than that not much doing here.

Dinner tonight is my own recipe mince and mozzarella bake

    Morning all,

WM is on, DW is loaded, dinner is sitting ready to cook tonight (pasta bake with beef shreds) and the rest of the meat and the goodness from the brisket are sitting in the freezer ready for a pan of stovies soon.

Need to do my meds in a minute then I'll go and storm proof the garden (mostly already done btw), but it doesn't seem to be heading this way yet. We did have two power blips last night = 1 major flicker and a momentary cut, but nothing to panic about. I'll get the lanterns wound up ready though.

I'll declutter and vacuum this afternoon as DD is coming home for a few days - SiL is working but she has to take leave or lose it.

    Happy Friday all!
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

I have had a horrid week with next door doing building work. They never even bothered to tell me that it was happening.:mad:Yesterday I phoned my neighbour the other side in tears,it sounded like they were coming through my wall.
Anyway I got a tax rebate today, which cheered me up.:T
District nurse changed my vac pac, and she thinks this will be the last one.
Just got to get rid of the plaster cast now:rotfl:

DD is coming tonight and tomorrow, so that will be good.

    Have a good day all.

    Hi all,

Late today, I've been blitzing the downstairs and have just stopped for lunch. I want to finish that and then give the upsairs a once over, make some bread and maybe a cake if I can decide what to make.

DD and BF are coming up for the weekend, I've not seen her since the middle of August because she went to the Burning Man festival and the Kentucky and Paris and we went to Italy. She's off to Iceland next weekend as well, I don't know where she got her itchy feet. I hope she won't be too distressed this weekend because it's the first time she's been home since we lost her dog. I've got the ashes here as well so she might want to do something with them.

    Afternoon All,

TTFTM - glad redundancy process is finished for you and all is concluded satisfactorally.
Redruby - I'm sure this will be a bitter sweet weekend; lots of lovely stories and memories of your dad, tinged with the sadness of his passing BIG HUGS.
Dumpling - very poor service from your Council indeed. I would write to the councillor you elected, or the Chief Clerk of the Council and ask them to investigate your problem in particular and procedures in general. Too much "It's always been done this way" attitude.
Hilstep - neighbours should have had decency to let you know about the work, hopefully it is now finished.

Weather forecasters got it completely wrong; we were to have heavy rain, but it is a beautiful sunny day!

Well finally got a (standard) letter from HR yesterday, recognising My last day of work was 30 September. They have informed our Pensions Department, so hopefully I will hear from them in the next week.

Have a good day everyone

PS just seen the forecast for the storm, looks like you are in the path of it Luxor, hope your "defences" minimise your damage.

Dumpling, I agree, but telephone / email your Councillor - after all, they are there to serve the people of your town and they should get a quick response from the staff (well they would if it was here anyway!).
  • Sorry I was AWOL this morning, appointment about my left ear.

I had it hoovered out, but consultant is not happy so I have to have a little sleep whilst he has a better look at it to see whats going on, he says there is deep seated infection in my ear......I have some more drops to put in 3 times a day.

I took OH's compression stockings off this morning, his right foot is fine, his left a mess, all colours of the rainbow....have put his ordinary stockings on for today will put the others back on tomorrow when they are dry.

He had a dizzy this morning just before I went out. I was glad that DD2 was here as my consultation appointment was over an hour late starting.

    Time for tea and cake......
