This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

  • Good morning everyone :)

My redundancy process is officially over and I am redundant from 31st December 2013. Am waiting for confirmation from new job on starting date but it will be 6th January 2014 at the latest. Now I can Shut Up and Move On. Sorry about the SUMO confusion yesterday :o

Weather is vile again but have seen it is likely to get much worse over the weekend. For anyone in the South, I think the advice is going to be batten down the hatches and stay indoors Sunday and Monday, as we get hit by a big Atlantic storm which is heading this way :(

Anyway I better get going and work my last day before a week off for DH's half term :j

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day :)

Pouring down again although we did have a little sunshine yesterday.

Had bean stew for tea which was lovely, haven't had it in ages, not sure what's on tonight as I am going to the dentist so may not be able to eat for a while after.

Glad it's Friday, Take care. XX

    Morning everyone

Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x

Raining here this morning. Although yesterday was beautifully sunny all day.

DH up and enjoying first cuppa of the day, I'm just finishing brekkie as I type, will then be getting last few bits packed and we'll be getting off.

Dinner last night was chicken and bacon kievs, chip and beans for the menfolk. Mushroom omlette and salad for me. Tonight not sure what the boys will be having as they'll be at grandparents and we could be going out for dinner with friends at the site or I have some things we could eat in the caravan.

Yesterday was a good day as far as getting jobs done, seemed to be able to get stuck in and get on - instead of wandering aimlessly around the house knowing it needs to be done but not getting on with it. Got the dirty wash basket emptied, everything washed, dried and ironed and put away. Got housework done too and then packed boys bags and ours - so everything clothes-wise is ready to go. Had an on-line shop delivered between 4-5pm this really helped with organising my day. But don't normally shop at that SM so always seems to cost more.

Have a good Friday everyone x

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning all,

No rain here atm but more due later on, I have a day off today as I need to drop some bits off to the funeral place, the order of service and the music, we printed the top page ot the order last night then ran out of coloured ink, so I will have to do a dash this morning so get some more.

DD finishing uni at lunch time, so will help me print off the last ones, then we can run them over this afternoon.

Not sure about dinner yet will have to check my list think it might be spag bol.

    Have good days all xx

    Good morning everyone

It's dry outside for a minute but the bad weather is expected to roll in sometime this afternoon. Had a very fraught morning with the evil kittens. One of them keeps jumping on the side in the kitchen and trying to lick dirty plates of eat any leftovers lying around. This morning it was trying to drink the milk out of the girls cereal bowls. Now, I absolutely hate cats jumping up on the side, I think it's disgusting and unhygenic, especially as they have probably just used their litter tray Bleurgh . I don't know how to stop it, my other cats never did this so I am at a bit of a loss. Anyway, I picked it up and chucked it outside but managed to stub my toe very badly on the back door so after swearing A LOT I am sat here with a throbbing big toe . Oh well, my morning can only get better from now on in.

The council never turned up yesterday to fix the roof so I shall be ringing them again to see where they are. I rang up yesterday afternoon and was promised a call back tolet me know what was going on but obviously never received one. I think our local office needs retraining in customer services. I am really fed up as I stayed in all day and will need to stay by the phone today as well.

Blimey, I am in a moany mood today :D. I think I will stop here before I find something else to annoy me :rotfl:. Hope everyone manages to have a great day...it's Friday after all! Take care and as always, gentle hugs for all who would like one.
    Cheers m'dears x

    Morning all

Horrible weather , day off today , the plan was to go for a walk and drop into a local cafe for a cuppa. There is also a farm shop where I was going to pick up some pork and tomato sausages, DHs favorite . The weather has put me off lol. Plus DH is still in bed as is dd2.

Managed to get the washing dry on the line yesterday :j so need to iron today.

Something with HM oven chips for tea

red ruby thinking of you xx

Have a good day everyone xx
