Halifax Switch £100

Hello,
Just wondering when the £100 from the Halifax switch service hits the account? A few people I know got it pretty much straight away and others are waiting. Is it after a month or so?
Anyone else recently joined Halifax too?

Mine was credited before I left the branch.
If you've done the switch online it should take no more than a couple or 3 days (they used to say as much on their website, but I don't think it's there now). Anything longer than this and you should be chasing them up!0 -
My partner switched on branch and he got it instantly x I switched the next day and did it online and I'm still waiting. Going to ring them tomorrow if it's not in as my account swapped over today and when I asked in branch when I was ordering a cheque book they said it would go in on the day of switch. Which was today. Not very impressed so far!0

Just phoned them and they said there was an error so it hasn't gone in. They said it will be in my account at the beginning of next week plus an extra £5 for having to ring up about it x
So if you've been waiting a while and you switched online I'd recommend giving them a ring x0 -
I'm just about to sign up for a Halifax account. I'll be switching from Cahoot, which isn't my day-to-day account, but does have two cunning direct debits set up on it.
Does anyone know if the DDs have to go out every month with Halifax, or is it enough to just have the DD mandate active? I know with Santander, you just need to have the DD set up.
One DD will be for my electricity, so that's OK, but the other will be for a credit card that I don't use every month.0 -

They have to come out every month. Just having them active is not enough.
I had two but one was a quarterly payment and it didnt count. There have to be 2 DDs taken each month so I just setup a payment into my YBS savings from it to hit that.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

The same thing happened to me, only I was offered £15.00 for the inconvenience:p0 -

I've had several 'issues' (although nothing too major) over the last 8 years or so I've been with them, and never received less than £25 (with several 'goodwill' gestures exceeding £50).
Crikey, after doubled booking an appointment I had in branch one morning, meaning I couldn't be seen for a couple of hours, they put me £25 in my account there and then!
But if you're going to have a complaint, best to have it with Lloyds...they start at £100 in my recent experience.0 -
Called Halifax up, very helpful staff on the phones, the £100 plus £10 for my trouble will be in my account in the next 3-5 working days, wait and see heySpeedy Boots0

i did the switch online three months ago and assumed the money had gone in, however when i checked last week i found it hadnt so i phoned them to ask. and was told that as i hadnt closed my old account the money wasnt paid in (and i wasnt going to get it) now i also thought that the seven day switch included transfering my wages and debits over into a new account and the closure of my old account (all carried out by them)as i remember i signed a form to that effect .
my first months wages were not paid into halifax but all my debits were which resulted in me getting nasty letters from my mortgage company and others luckily my old account at this time hadnt been closed so i was able to transfer my wages across into the halifax account. and my morg etc, got paid
consequently i am very unhappy with the treatment i have recieved from halifax over this and unsure where to go next
any advice welcome.0 -
