Hmm in a quandary now, fixed with SP till March next year so not sure whether to fix now, any suggestions?:(

I`m fixed with SP March 14 (28th Feb actually).
Decided to switch to EDF March 15 rather than SP March 15.

Mainly because it takes nearly 8 weeks to switch to EDF but SP would do it straight away, thus losing 8 weeks at current rate.
Also EDF March 15 has no exit penalties whereas SP has £25 per fuel.

It would be a masterstroke if the last one to increase prices (either EDF or EON) came out and said they weren't going to increase prices - it would leave the others high and dry ! Commercially they could wipe the floor.

Neither of them, of course, will have the imagination to do it. It would break the closed shop that is the illusion of competition in this industry.

I cannot thank Mr K enough for saying what I have been thinking for a very long time.

I don't think E.On needs to increase their prices.
Their prices have been sky high for me since August 2012.

In fact, I was looking forward to switching back to E.On with cashback this year. Not a dickie bird.

Hopefully it'll be EDF, as that will save me a switch!

I wonder where. VED? Petrol? It really won't save people money if they just shift costs from one bill to another, unless they make it means-tested by adding it to income tax or something.

Personally I'd be quite happy with that since I don't pay income tax. ;)
They should put it into the tiered income tax, that way the poorest will not be funding so much of it.

TBH, with how many green investors we have with ties to energy policy, it just looks like a scam to get the poor people to line the pockets of the rich and connected. Disgusting behaviour!

Trying to artificially stimulate demand for a bad idea always cost money in a democracy.

When chairman Mao decreed that sparrows should be exterminated across China, it was extremely cheap. Well, it ended up costing the nation's GDP, because everyone was running around with nets, but then it was 1959, so the national GDP was probably £10 a year. Oh, and the insect epidemic that ensued.

Well, it's universally bad to promote something based on wishful thinking ideology, then.

EDF will probably hold back for a bit.
They will get all the numpties swapping to them as their old prices will appear to be a lot cheaper then everyone elses new prices.
Then, when they have got as many as they can in, they will stuff 'em all with a super mega price rise.

Well that's what I would do anyway.

How does that work then if you sign blue plus fixed ? The word FIXED

I don't think they will SAY they will just DO...so if your with them now might be the time to fix or whatever....ive just jumped on the march 2015 fix . the jump to the march 2017 was just to much of a jump money wise...worked out 25% rise in one go for me going to 2017.
    was on april 2014 tariff...

looking at a chart it seems EDF have been in the last two for rises in the previous 3 years

Changed my mind and used the 12 day cooling off period and cancelled...working the figures out even if they put it up 10% i would be £50 quid better off changing after the rise (if there is one) till march 2015.
