Mains drainage?

I've been to look at a rented property, it's in a very rural location so I assumed that it have a soak away or a septic tank. I forgot to ask the current tenant so I asked the agency and they asked the tenant and she said it's on mains drainage. I'm just wondering if she has got it wrong and maybe paying for something that she doesn't have.
Has anyone else come across a very rural property with mains drainage?
Thanks for your help

Depends on how rural. I'm semi rural but have a septic tank. Best check with the agency.0
