We have been running a Humax PVR 9200T successfully for a few years and now wish to add a Youview to the system and not quite sure how to link in the Youview.
We also have 2 Comtrend powerline adapters that we used in our previous home with our BT Home Hub and BT Vision.
Looking at the instruction manual there is one suggestion to connect to the router using powerline adapters, so would the p/a that we used in our old property work with this system?
I do know that I could wire the system via an Ethernet cable directly from the Broadband BTHub4-HFG5 to the Youview but they are in different parts of the property.
Being a pensioner modern technology is difficult to keep pace with so any help would be appreciated.
regards
Robert

Plug your TV Aerial. into the top socket, then bottom is the loop through to your TV. HDMI to TV, Eternet to router and you are cooking on gas. Did you not find the set up guide. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

What had me confused was the 2 Comtrend powerline adapters - After setting these up we could not get a picture.
The instructions do not include setting up the Humax PVR 9200T into the set up.
I have a feeling that these two cannot run side by side maybe.
I will have to try again.

OK, why do you wish to retain the old PVR, the Youview box is a twin tuner unit.
They both should work if you daisy chain the aerial between the boxes, maybe its the way the boxes are conneted to the TV, have you selected the appropriate inputs for the boxes i.e scart or HDMI.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
The better half has quite a lot of programmes that she wishes to retain for viewing 'at her leisure' as it were. This is the reason for wishing to retain the old PVR. Daisy chain would appear to be the answer on the aerial connections.
I have just set up the Youview in my study which is close to the Broadband BTHub and the internet, the box has just downloaded all the software and is set up to go.
The location in the lounge where we want it to run from will either run, hopefully, from the Comtrend power adapters that you say should work.
Thank you for your patience and understanding that being close to eighty I am not the 'sharpest knife in the drawer'

Its now doing good work in the family. I am with Sky.
