I’m extremely pleased to discover this MSE thread, as Nationwide are repeatedly assuring me that nobody else is having any sort of problem with their online banking.

I’ve been trying to get into my Nationwide internet banking for six days now. That’s SIX DAYS of being unable to get access to my money and accounts to carry out transfers. Totally unacceptable service.

    All I’m getting is:
There was a problem. We are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later.
    What you should do now:
Go to the Nationwide home page.

I’ve emailed Customer Services a dozen times and they are simply not interested. I get stupid emails back from people who clearly know nothing about PCs, software or online access. Their email responses bear no resemblance to my queries and suggestions. These individuals would I’m sure be very annoyed if THEY had no access to their money.

Yesterday (Friday) this service note appeared on their website:
    Online Banking
Due to essential maintenance work your Online Bank service will be unavailable on Sunday 27th October between approximately 00:01 BST and 03:00 GMT. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this will cause you.

So of course I am desperately hoping this ‘essential maintenance’ means a fix for this major problem.

After their very public disasters this summer I feel they are in total denial in case yet another Nationwide disaster gets on the national news.
