Hi, I have an o mobile phone contract. I have about 12 months left. I'm paying £45-£50 a month, I would like a cheaper deal.
You are not the only one with a 'free' handset wanting this. However, if you cannot stay even within your £45 tariff allowances, how are you going to do this on a cheaper tariff with smaller allowances?
Last time I terminated my contract I had to pay cancellation fee.
    This time is not different.
Could someone please advice on the best way to lower my monthly payments.
IIRC, at O2 you can downgrade by one step to the next cheaper tariff after passing the middle of your minimum term.

Two options only to void your contract legally. Death or bankruptcy...

I will be moving abroad this August for the next few years. Unfortunately I did not know this was a possibility when I took a 24 month O2 contract via Tesco. I will have 11 months left when I leave. My tarrif is £21 a month I think. Will I have to pay £231 then when I leave? Or can I get the VAT off as I won't be receiving a service?

Is there any other way to minimise these costs further?

Hi, I'm on a 24 month contract with O2 which ends April 17th. I want to change to giffgaff & keep my number. Giffgaff is run on the O2 network so will there be a problem keeping my number? Also, after reading posts here & on O2 community about cancelling, would it be better to send it in writing?
    Thanks :)

You still pay VAT, just not on any part of the service element they rebate. (As you won't be using the bundled minutes). It's worth about 3% at best.
