That's interesting - though Acromas is only a holding company and I've heard the ADAC/AA link from more than one reputable source: I wonder whether Charterhouse Capital Partners, CVC Capital Partners or Permira Advisers have a interest in ADAC..?
ADAC is an automobile club, non-profit organisation, owned by its members - you pay the annual membership fee of €79.50 and you become ADAC member, with full voting rights, etc.
The AA on the other hand is a private company - their "membership" is just a simple insurance policy. Their number 1 objective is profit."Retail is for suckers"

But the callback doesn't come from Munich - it's off-shored... to Croatia!
I only used them once, and the number that ADAC gave me for UK roadside assistance was in fact the AA European call centre in Lyon, France. Eventually the AA transferred me through to ADAC staff sharing the same Lyon office, and the AA van arrived 30 minutes later."Retail is for suckers"
