Options
Hi,

I'm getting my wife a necklace with an initial on it as she's previously hinted that she wants one - however i am unsure of whether to get my initial or her's put on it!

I initially assumed i would get her my initial but now having second thoughts and don't want to ask her!

any ideas???!

Cheers

Her initial. Normally you'd only have your partners if it was entwined with your own, or include it in a piece of jewellery with spaces or charms etc for more than one name.

Yep, as Alikay says it would be her initial usually.

Personally if it were me I would get her something with her initial on.

You can get necklaces and indeed bracelets that will allow you to add extra initials as and when, and this might be something you could look into and get yours added at another time....or indeed the initials of your children/future children can be also added

To start with I would do her initial.

    Definitely hers!!
  • Cheers guys,

Glad i asked now rather than being silly and getting my own!!
  • Her initial of course!, how egotistical thinking she'd want your initial round her neck! Whilst your at it get her a huge photo of yourself as another gift.

That's not fair. A lot of women have jewellery, pandora springs to mind, amongst others. With initials of their kids and partners.

It's not so far fetched if he doesn't know what he's talking about to get confused.

I personally have always wondered why people get jewellery with their own initials/name, same with tattoo's. It's like wearing a grown up name tag.

To be fair, people often get their partners name/initial tattooed on them so it's not really unreasonable to think she might've wanted his initial on a necklace!

I agree that dandelionclock30's comments were unfair.

An unnecessary cheap shot at a newbie (Remember! "Be nice to newbies" as the notice says) who's trying to get his wife a surprise gift and doesn't want to make a mistake.

I haven't read the rest of this thread yet, but I'd say its her initial she'd want on her chain, not anyone elses!

Now I'll away and read the other replies, see if anyone thinks it should be your initial.
