Morning all, lovely and sunny at the back and big grey clouds at the front but a very windy corner of Kent here today.
Been for a swim using my £20 per month membership, aim to get the cost per visit down a good bit.
Bit of sewing etc going on here, I was unbelievably pleased when I managed to mend a zip in a fleece yesterday, at one time I would have thrown it away, not now!
Trying to sell some star wars stuff, had on gummytree and AMA.... But no luck, about to start listing on FB and bay of e, so time consuming isn't it?
Hugs to those that need them, and keep safe in this weather.Carolbee0 -
Morning all!
House was blitzed yesterday as DS was in a strop and I was cleaning to stop myself exploding at him! My bedding is in the WM, will remake the bed later once its aired. Making cottage pie later for dinner, otherwise no OS will go on, not sure what I will get up to but will probably go out to avoid confrontation with the teenager! The whole family is edgy just now, and this is my hormonal crazy mamma week, so no point inviting trouble!!!!
Right, I better get the washing hung about the place.
Hugs where needed, especially Redruby and Wuvvies, have a good day all!RIP Iain

Hi all.
We had a bit of thunder and lightning last night, but thankfully didn't come to much. Ruby was completely unfazed, she's such a chilled dog!:D I think there must've been some damage done elsewhere though, as Mr LW got a text from his boss just after 06:00 this morning – he was asking all the DBAs to get into the office asap, as they had a “major problem” with the data centre, so we got him out of the house as swiftly as possible, he was there 45 minutes before his official start time. He called me a short time ago, and apparently it was a blackout, which has caused all sorts of problems with the systems, so gods know what time he'll be in tonight.:( They were all told to have their lunch and do anything else lunch-break related at about 11:00 as they had a 90 minute window before it'd be "all hands to the pumps", so, bless him, he's popping to Morries to get milk and a couple of other bits for us during that time.:A
Hester tell DH not to feel down regarding a hearing aid – I use one, and it's wonderful to actually hear what's being said to me!:D It's not a sign of old age – just the ol' lug'oles aren't as efficient as they might be.:o Oh, and a bonus is – there's a particular gaming website Mr LW visits (pc games, NOT gambling, I hasten to add) where they have an American woman with a particularly irritating voice; when he goes on there, I turn the hearing aid off, so as not to have to hear her;) (think “nails on a blackboard” sort of irritating).:D
Tru how very annoying re the T@simo machine – that's why we've always stuck to a good old-fashioned filter jug jobbie.;)
Nmlc (((HUGS))) Mr LW would never throw a paddywack like that; he'd just make the best of the situation. It's not like you miscalculated on purpose!
Wuvvies oh my..... just.... (((HUGS))) mate.
Right, I think I'm going to take Ruby for her little trundle out before it rains again.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all,
Happy Birthday skitlers mum
nmlc I would have hit him over the head with it. snoozer my dad was very similar, he's mellowed a lot but my dh couldn't be more different thank goodness.
LWhope Mr LW is not too late home
hester my fella has just had his hair cut very short and it is receding slightly at the sides, makes absolutely no difference to me I think he's gorgeous but he hates it and is grumbling about his age, aren't men funny.
wuvvies sorry your having such a tough time. Hopefully things will improve as she gets older and realises she doesn't know everything
redruby hugs
BB love the look and price of the heated airer, think I might invest in one.
Sorry if I've missed anything. Have a spare hug if you need one
I'm just back from the gynaecologist, everything's ok, they will just keep an eye on my cyst so back in 6mnths for a scan.
It's windy and wet here but the sun does keep trying to shine. We might light a fire tonight.
Dh has a couple of jobs and then we will wallpaper in DD room. Then it just needs a good clean before she moves in on Friday.
Think we will have a rest from decorating until after Christmas. It's going to be hard enough for dh managing with me laid up with my new knee, running kids here there and everywhere and I won't be able to help with the driving.
Youngest boy at the Artic Monkeys tonight, so very excited this morning, up with the lark:eek:
I was glad that Frances won in the end I think she deserved it
Well I'm 7 days without wheat today and I actually feel brill. Lighter somehow although I haven't weighed myself and I feel cleaner iykwim and no IBS flare ups. Really hoping this is the answer.
Anyway enough waffle, better get a wriggle on, BFN xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hello all
I'm just glad ruby didn't win GBBO. Didn't like her at all. And can't escape her as she's local so she's in the evenig standard & local paper.
OS wise, I am carp at the moment.
I have hoovered through the whole house. Not spending too much money as did a big shop on Sunday at Aldi & Asda. So that's good.
I just have no energy at the moment.
Love (((hugs))) &spoons

Afternoon all
I could have sworn I posted this morning!
Washing machine is fixed! :-) so OH is home and the sun is out so I've told him to start washing clothes pronto.
Dinner is prepped for tonight, so when I get home around five i'll spend what is left of the sunlight out in the garden getting our bonfire ready for Saturday.

Afternoon All,
TTFTM - well done on being so sensible with redundancy money, no party for us then!
TRU/Jools - we had home-made cottage pie for dinner last night, it was lovely.
NMLC - as we say over here (about OH) "what an eejit!" He should be grateful, not critical, anger management course sounds suitable! I wouldn't dream of saying such things to my OH.
Julie - glad to hear there is no change with cyst. :j
Lovely sunny day here and forecast is good for tomorrow also. So glad as I will be attending funeral of mother of a friend in the morning and I don't want soaked.
Mrs is out downtown doing a bit of shopping. However I am stuck indoors waiting for deliveries of some of the Christmas presents; still it will keep me out of mischief!
Have a good day everyone :beer:0 -
NMLC - my ex used to be terrible with meals, he ignored the fact i'm pretty much vegan and insists on meat with everymeal - if he wanted steak he wouldn't be happy unless if was a rump steak weighing 700g plus!
If something wasn't cooked right he'd get so angry the point of violence.
In the end I just stopped trying and started serving salads and things. He knew where the kitchen was if he didn't like it.0 -

I said I have absolutely no objection to him eating meat, but he'd need to cook it himself, with the kitchen door shut, and preferably with the window open.
He opted to eat veggie at home, and has a steak if we eat out; he also says he enjoys the food I give him; and one of his favourite meals is Qu0rn fillets in white wine sauce (sauce recipe originally found in his mum's cook book) with chips.:o
Oh, and if I'm having a bad day with the lupus, he'll happily take over in the kitchen, under instruction; he often preps stuff the night before and leaves it in dishes in the fridge (eg grated cheese and diced onion for HM pizza) to save my paws, and usually does the dinner on a Saturday (his specialities are egg'n'chips and "omelette-with-everything" as he calls it, ie whatever needs using up goes in it) to give me a day off, knowing I actually loathe cooking.:A:A:A
I guess I'm just lucky.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
When I first moved in with Mr LW, I told him straight out I'm vegetarian, and cannot cook meat. I can't bear the sight or smell of it,_pale_ and certainly can't cope with touching it._pale__pale__pale_ I also have no idea how to cook it, and would probably end up poisoning him if I tried.

New OH is absolutely amazing, and has adopted my lifestyle with no objection what so ever, he's never even commented on the fact we never eat meat at home. He even hates cheese, so doesn't mind that nearly everything is vegan friendly (with the exception of quorn) and now prefers soya milk!
I think it was more that I was unlucky with the first one :rotfl:0
