How to remove cover from oil fired Riello burner

I've had a delivery of oil and the tank has been empty since February so the boiler won't fire up. The usual thing to try first, I gather, is to bleed it, however all the instructions for doing so either assume it's obvious how to remove the front of the boiler or don't even mention it. However I can't find a single picture online that's like mine and can't work out how to remove the cover without half demolishing the thing. Can anyone help?

It says Riello 40 on the front and is the usual red box - metal in my case. The difference between mine and others I've found on the net is that mine has the exhaust pipe coming out of the top instead of the back as others do so it looks as though there's no way of removing the red cover without unscrewing and taking off the exhaust too. Is this right? I do hope there's some other way.

Grateful for any help, thanks. Liz

can you put a photo on here of your burner, it may be easier to tell what needs to be done once we see a photo
