I've just had a friend on the phone to say they've received a letter about this for me!
I had an address in Newbury from 2008 to 2010 and remember Scottish Power turning up and literally bullying me into switching suppliers. That being said, they did get me a slightly cheaper deal and I moved away quite soon afterwards.
After moving, I moved in with a friend, who I stayed with a month, before moving into my current place. This was July 2010, and this friend has received the letter for me!
Scottish Power could have tracked me down... I have them as my supplier now! LOL
I'll fill in the form and send it off, but I won't expect anything much.Because it's fun to have money!

Has anyone who received the email/letter about this credit of £53 had it credited to their accounts yet?
I haven't and am waiting on a reply from SP to see if its going to be like the WHD credit, which only shows up on your account if you put in up to date readings. I don't think for one minute they will say they are dishing it out and then not, it would just be good to see it's been credited that's all.0 -
Hi,
They say Scottish Power were misselling up to February 2013. Well I was conned in October 2013
I did a search for an online tariff just as the prices were going up and I found one from Scottish Power which I accepted on the spot because the unit cost of electricity was much cheaper than I was paying and the web site confirmed I would be £350 a year better off.
When I got the welcome pack from them 2 weeks later the cost for the day unit rate had been changed by over 2p per unit. When I quieried it, they told me the original quote I had was WRONG!
So my saving by switching in now under £40! and this new saving figure has been confirmed by Scottish Power, who have told me I can get out of switching to them at no cost or penalty. BUT all the prices have gone up and I can't get my old fixed tariff rate I had with my last supplier!0 -
Just discovered we have been on standard tariff on my gas and electric with scottish power since 2005.
called them and they just said it was up to me to change the tariff but we switched supplier in 2005 to scottish power .
why would we switch supplier and stay on the highest tariff .
have opened a complaint and need to take this further as it seems we have paid £1000s more than we should have.
this is surely miss selling as we would only switch to get a better deal?
any advice is welcome ,
should we take this to Ofgem ?

9 years you never looked at your energy bills?
This is not mis-selling. This is surely a wind up.0 -
Has anybody received any update/payment for his/her case?
They've lodged my miss-selling claim under "complaints" and I get nonsense and BS from a CS rep who's "on the case".
It's well over six months.
Their initial letter said claims would be sorted within a month!
Huge national strategic projects can be done in 6 months.... what are SP doing?
Is it sheer incompetence, or, as I think, much more likely, deliberate and sustained prevarication, misinformation, obfuscation and other long words being the work of Satan?
Is there any thing else I can do?
I'm an articulate and assertive man but the machinations of SP are a whole new ball game for me.
I have little understanding and techniques to deal with the Dark Side.0
