Sorry if this has been posted before, but is there any way to find out the reserve of an item?

Nope, they are always secret.0

Yes. Bid a ridiculous amount, then retract your bid.0

You can use the "Ask seller a question" link and just ask them outright. Sometimes they'll tell you.Offical MSE Fantasy League Member :footie:0

i always ask them. if they don't tell you then they are foolish because if you don't know what price they want you may not bother bidding.
sellers always tell me.
all the reserve is to stop it selling for a price they dont want to go for. so they have nothing to lose in telling you.0 -
I only once set a reserve and I was asked and told them, so give it a try.0

Like the others have said ask the seller, he might tell you. All you can tell from the auction is that it must be a minimum of £50. However, if you put in your highest proxy bid it will either sit on the reserve amount if reached, or show reserve not met , if not, so you can tellt hat way.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. 1. Go to "My ebay".
2. In the left hand column. Under 'Related Links', click "Buyer Resourses".
3. Under the heading, 'Bidding Information' there is a link for "Retracting a bid".
4. Click the "Can I retract or cancel my bid?" link.
5. Click the "Bid retraction form"
6. Enter the item number and select a reason from the drop down list.
As an example: If you are interested in buying a digital camera [random item] and the highest bid so far is £55. Enter £560.0 as your bid. This will reveal the reserve. Follow steps 1 to 6 then re-enter your bid as £56, thus making you appear as genuine.......dim but genuine. It seems quite complicated but only takes seconds to carry out. Also, try and make sure you do this when ebay is at its quietest so as not to reveal the reserve to any potential rival bidders.
* If the item has a "Buy it now" option, ignore the ebay advice which appears, and proceed to confirm as a regular bid.0 -
