How someone got a breeding issue from a toilet problem is beyond me but I am sure they had the best in mind.

hi op thanks for clearing that up (no pun intended):rotfl:
    it started at post 3.

    some folk eh!!

my jr on avatar wont go all day as he wants to save it for every pillar and post on a walk, and its not always practical to go out early. but when we do go out early its no issue, tallest blade of grass/ pillar/ post / anything that sticks out gets a splash, if we don't go out it can be 8pm before he goes in the yard.
    bloody dogs.:rotfl:

don't know what you can glean from that, but its all I can give, sorry.

    regards:beer:
  • A dead laptop with an auto stored password and a no longer active email account has meant I have made this new ID until I have sorted out the other problems.
I didn't want to not reply.
He did go out last night and I think he pee'd but there was still poo in the house this morning.
He doesn't !!!! his leg but squats like a female (when he goes inside that is) so not sure if that is a sign of anything.
I am having to use the libary at the moment for net access so will reply/ update as and when I can.
    Thank you all

GothicFairy, my springer still squats like a girlie when he can't be bothered to walk to the fence and lift his leg, I wouldn't read too much into that.
Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!

I think its because they lift their leg if they are 'scent marking' rather than just relieving themselves. which is why puddles indoors are more like the 'great lakes' than the quick 'squirt' on lamp posts!
  • Sorry this is so late a reply and the site has moved one since but I wanted to update.
We have made some progress. We are now getting at least one wee a day outside on the lead.
No poo's as yet as that is all done on my carpet when I am not around or over night but at least there is some advance.
He is coming out of his shell and we managed bonfire night better then expected as the first day he heard fireworks he almost had a fit.
He is eating properly now at set times and no longer steals and he is getting use to the cat although they still are not able to be in the same room together they can be outsided together and are getting on ok.

He is a happy little lad in most ways so I think he is starting to relax and that will mean toilet training should become easier as we go along.
We were advised by the local animal centre that we would be looking at about 6-9 weeks before we see a massive improvement so we are spending a fortune on carpet cleaner and pet spray..lol

A small food reward for peeing outside while hes in the act may tip the balance
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
