    no need to explain :)
I find the search so easy to use that I don't need to use the more complicated index way, and I don't think you could make it any easier, even the explanation about it is hard going

don't worry though m'dear, what works for one doesn't work for all

    What about a sandwich loaf.

Bake or buy a crusty loaf, slice the top off and carefully scoop out some of the middle, fill with layers of sandwhichy stuff, pop the top back on, wrap in clingfilm and store in the fridge....take along with you and just cut wedges.

You need to pack it fairy well, tuna, sweetcorn, cucumber and mayo is nice.....you could do various cheeses and tomato etc.

What about hard boiled eggs and sliced cooked sausages, they keep for a few days too.

My children took pasta salad to school today in small containers. Cook some dried pasta shapes, drain and leave to go cold. Then add halved cherry tomatoes, chopped cucumber, chopped spring onions, tin of tuna and mayonaise to mix. I sometimes add sweetcorn as well.

    We also love buttered maltloaf.

    Enjoy your day.

Make up some small bottles with water/diluted juice/fruit juice and freeze - will serve as ice packs to keep food cool. You obviously will remember to take chilled juice to drink straight away. Flask of boiling water for tea or coffee, cuppa soup - someone is bound to want a hot drink, but admit this is not to be done ahead, just in case you forget!
Was going to say tortillas, but too late as Elona got there first.
If your family like eating cold chicken, you could cook drumsticks the day before and bung in fridge, all wrapped up, ready to take into picnic box. On the same note, you can marinate chicken in a tandoori/yoghourt mix, or any other kind of mixture of herbs and spices, cook and chill.
Depends on what you are going with, but perhaps coleslaw/some other salad which your family will eat.
Hope you have a lovely day whatever you decide.
