Distance learning cancellation

Hi,
I am new to the forum so please forgive me if this is posted in the wrong place. After some advice re distance learning cancellations.
I signed up to My distance learning college at the end of August, after a series of errors and bad service I decided to cancel the course. I contacted them first by telephone and then by e-mail and then post. Sent the course back to them. After weeks of being ignored, I received a letter to say that basically my complaints were unfounded and ignoring the fact I was cancelling. After more calls and e-mails, it was confirmed via phone on Fri afternoon that it was actually cancelled. Then received an e-mail yesterday to say I am liable for the rest of the course costs and the course is not cancelled.
If anyone has any advice on what to do next I would be very grateful.
Thanks.

Their ts +cs will cover your cancellation, (they don't give any refunds)
So you need to concentrate on your complaint and see if they uphold it and agree to compensate you that way.0 -
There's a thread on net mums with lots of negative stuff.0

Probably should have mentioned that I was paying monthly, and they have taken 1 payment and a deposit of £83.0
-
They will still want paying in full in line with the ts & cs regarding cancellation.
But try and get your complaint resolved and seek some compensation if there are grounds for this.0 -
What do you mean by errors and bad service? Can you give examples?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Just out of interest, why do you want to cancel? I did my teaching assistant qualification with them last year, and for all they weren't perfect and I had little support from the tutors, I was happy with the service I received. Just interested to see why you want to cancel.Any views are my own and may not always be correct - though i do try0

When I was trying to sign up I had some issues with the website so called up to do it on the phone, clarified all the costs etc and was told as advertised on the website that my course pack would be delivered the next working day, as I signed up on the Friday it should have arrived on Monday.
The course pack did not arrive until the Wednesday with no explanation or apology, and after paying £8 for delivery it was pretty poor.
Then they e-mailed regarding the direct debit and the cost was incorrect, contacted them about this to be told the price on the website is incorrect and so would be charged the new price. After asking to speak to a supervisor they said they would honour the price I had seen, only to then go ahead and charge me the more expensive cost.
Tried to contact them and after being passed from pillar to post, get a very rude person with a bad attitude telling me I was wrong and had not been over charged, so only after I had sent proof they refunded the difference. During all of this had issues getting any response from the tutor.
When I drew their attention to all of these problems I was met with seriously bad attitude, so after only having the pack for 3 weeks I advised them of my decision to cancel. After 3 weeks and numerous calls it was confirmed via telephone that it had been cancelled and there would be no refund of monies paid but no further charge, and then I received an e-mail stating the course is not cancelled and I am still liable for the costs.0 -
I'd go in on the grounds they breached the contract and have not dealt with your complaints adequately. Do their terms or description give details on how long the tutor should usually take to reply?0
