bluemoo - thanks for the ideas for the tomato soup. I think it will all get used for lunch this time round but as DD will probably practise making it several times over the next few weeks I will make use of all those suggestions. I don't even like tomato soup that much!
Food Tech teacher shouted at all the new year 7s yesterday and make DD cry, cos they couldn't remember where everything was kept - it was only their second lesson and the last one was before half term. DH can't remember where everything is kept in our kitchen at home and we have lived here for 13 years!May spend - £291.40/£320.00
June spend - £106.40/£320.000 -

What a horrible teacher. I now work in a kitchen and this is only my fourth week, and I am still learning where everything lives. if potato cakes are what we call potato bread over here......mash spud ,flour salt etc we use a potato scoop/ice cream scoop ,plop it in pan and press down with a mug!!!! yes hold handle of mug as normal and press down on potato mixture. I pat flour on bottom of mug , makes round bread but darn siaht cleaner and less fiddly hth.
Thats so clever...I will definately try that when I make them again.0 -

So, spendy day for me yesterday
£21.40 spent on just picking up veggie bits and bobs for my vegetarian/vegan friend coming round on Sunday.
Did stock up on frozen broccoli, cauliflower, peas, carrots which will be used till the end of the month.
Did not buy any eclairs/pastries, but broke at work yesterday and purchased some bakery cookies
However managed to pick up a petrol double points coupon so that ws good.M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -

OH is taking me out this afternoon. It is my birthday in a wee or so and he wants to take me shopping for my gift (the first time this has happened!!) and then treat me to lunch/dinner. I am really looking forward to it.
When I get back I am going to get my freezer/fridge/cupboards inventory done and then plan meals for the week - I know what we are having, I just need to allocate days etc. Tomorrow will be Baked potato with cheese, HM coleslaw and beetroot.0 -
That's nice, allie23. Oooo, I always try and look up the menu online before I go to a restaurant so I can narrow down my selection. Everything always looks so tasty!
In terms of assigning days, I try and take into account what I have on during that day. So weekend meals are always the slightly more fiddly ones. Monday is usually something I can cook on the Sunday and then just reheat/add veg. Weds is usually leftovers day - from the weekend/mon and tues meals - like omelette or free-for-all pizza or stir fry. Thurs is the day I usually go shopping so always leave this blank in case of any YS bargains - but back up plan is a quick meal in case no deals- such as pasta/oven bake meals/salad with some hot chickenM3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0 -
