I'm glad I'm not the only one that does this.then when someone asks for the recipe it's like erm.... Let me just work out what I put in it
Although I made a lovely pasta dish from a cupboard/fridge raid
Leftover piece fried chicken and 3 hot wings from a takeaway - meat stripped from bones and chopped up
Quarter of a tub of Philadelphia
Cumin
Paprika
Dried coriander
English mustard
Dried pasta
It was a complete invention and cost nothing as I had all the ingredients and it made enough for a meal and lunch the next day. Will definitely make it again if I happen to have any leftover fried chicken. I do like just opening the cupboards and inventing meals out of what I have. It's a challenge! That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

If it wasn't on groceries then I would count as a No spend, I keep my grocery budget very low so I can afford to give to charity or treat the grandkids as this is my pleasure.
That's a good point I donate to the RSPCA and I count this in with my bill budget so I think I will add it to that. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

Didn't buy any food but got 5 teaspoons at the cook shop. Can anyone explain where all the teaspoons go, it's a bit like socks - now you see them, now you don't. I'm sure they have a secret life of their own!!!
Maybe they have a bit too much to drink at the teddy bears picnic and can't find there way home? That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

Gutted to report £23 approx. spend over two days for food and deink to take to hospital for OH. Last few days were supposed to be NSDs (neither were) and didn't really need to buy any food/drink for the home but had to pop to corner shop for convenience stuff for OH in hospital. Have a bit of making up to do. Will have to sort out my meal plan this weekend too.

I have £99.65 left from my initial budget of £189.93.
Mr Mooo is away for most of next week, so I know that will last me the 11 days until payday! I'm hoping that I'll be able to carry over a good chunk of this month's budget to my savings account.

. I am going to slow cook a large joint of beef today, any ideas for the left overs? I really could do with it stretching to a second meal for the four of us My signature is updated.
If there's enough left I usually slice it and freeze it in gravy and get another roast meal out of it. If not I chop any veggies to hand and steam, chop meat small, add to veg and gravy and make a pie.CountingPennies wrote: ». Potatoes are SOOOO expensive at the moment. Does anyone else think so???

I've tried but I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT POTATOES :rotfl:Don't know why but have to eat at least three times a week. I remember when they were 6p a pound !! Honestly think it is profiteering by SMs but as I've said before we don't have any markets here so no competition :mad:And what is the difference bewteen risotto rice and Arborio risotto rice? Sorry for all the questions, I haven't got a clue which one to buy!!
Arborio rice on offer in Mr T last weekend - worth a look ?
Another day out of the freezer - well mostly - HM Chicken Provençale, croquette potatoes, carrots, peas and asparagus (on offer Mr S last weekend at £1).;)
So another NSD for me :j
Have a good day everyone and wrap up warm

I woke up this mornnig thinking "blow it, only me this weekend, I'll have a chinese tonight which will do me tomorrow too" but after being on here I reckon the £12 ish it will cost me could fed me for the next week! So I will make my tea tonight, I need to do a shop on Sunday but am going to really think what I have in the cupboards and have a look at the recipes on here to make it as economic as possible. I def need washing powder (have coupon for money of that), tom ket (might buy value, but don't like it much!) eggs and milk. Hopefully a bit of fruit and veg and that will be it. Will report back later!Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.
