Or see if they will let you leave by way of a compromise agreement, which wont affect any future claim for benefits.
If you resign, you might regret later that you didn't stay and fight this disciplinary action.0 -

I'm devastated by all this. I'm prob going to do what you said and resign asking for a basic reference, although i will avoid using them as a reference at all costs.
Write down the pros and cons of each before making any decision.Or see if they will let you leave by way of a compromise agreement, which wont affect any future claim for benefits.

Two points on the CA:
* A CA is no guarantee that the OP will not receive a sanction. As explained in the other thread, the decision maker will look at the circumstances resulting in the ending of employment, not how it was ended.
* There is no reason why the employer would agree to a CA. They have valid grounds for dismissal, they are not going to pay for the OP to take legal advice when they can easily dismiss.0 -
When I left my last job by way of a compromise agreement, I got JSA with little fuss and I wasn't asked in detail why the job ended.
I appreciate what you are saying about the disciplinary issue though.0 -

Everyone is asked now, and sanctions are very common. However payment would be made until a decision is made.0 -
For the benefit of other posters, please be aware that most unions will now cover tribunal fees in union supported cases. It is so important to join a union, I just can't believe that many people still don't.
going off topic are you on a percentage for every new union member you recruit?
Your posts would seem to suggest you are.2014 Target;

I always joined a union in jobs where my employer recognised them. Any time I needed help or support they were as much use as a chocolate teapot. I was in Unison and then the TGWU.
However, Id still say to anyone, join one, you are better of with that protection than without.0 -
I'm sorry to say this but I think something smells fishy here.
For someone who is a nervous wreck and about to lose their job, you seem to be able to hand out a lot of advice to other people in other threads yet dont seem able to take advice yourself.
Also for someone worried about losing their job you seem to have no trouble spending money on coffee machines and furbys.
Anyway I followed the trail and its amazing that you were after a DIY divorce from your wife https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4664261
You bought a lovely engagement ring with your hubby https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4797785
You were a manager at Next and at Debenhams.
You were off sick for 3 months due to surgery after car accident and have only been back at work 4 weeks but completed on a house 3 months ago. Many threads on the house and mortgage yet no mention of the accident and surgery.
Have you ever tried writing a novel!!!!!0 -

Who the hell do you think you are? Forum police?
I've three stepchildren who still require Xmas gifts, and it was my mother in laws birthday so I bought her a coffee machine big deal.
Yes I got engaged to my partner last year, he is going through a messy divorce and he has posted on here using my profile. So what If I have worked for next and debenhams what the f@@k is that to do with you?
Yes I was in an accident and yes we bought a house, life goes on. If you dig a bit further you'll see I had no choice but to use a removal, company.
I don't have to justify myself to you, so but out and get a life instead of stalking mine!0 -

If even one person joins a union as a result of my posts here I will be happy knowing that's one more employee with protection from the worst of the exploitative behaviour that we see on these forums day in day out.
I come to these forums for stimulating discussion and in the hope that occasionally someone finds something I have to say interesting or useful.
Union reps are one of the largest and most overlooked groups of volunteers in the UK. They do it because they have a genuine desire to help others, not for financial reward.0 -

Hmmm, plenty of fight there, maybe that's the attitude you should take to the problem you are having at work instead of letting it get to you.0
