Thinking of getting a Panasonic Smart TV .How does the security work if i use Google ,Facebook or anything else .It would be connected by a Virgin wireless router.

It just connects via whatever internet connection you have. I'm not sure if there are any specific security provisions (I can't see anything on my Viera TV) so the firewall in your router could be the only line of defence.0

Don't think their is much need to sign up to Facebook or Twitter on your SmartTV.
As for browsing you should be ok if you have a firewall / privacy settings on your Broadband RouterLaters

Are you sure this TV will have a browser or a Facebook app in the first place?0

Yes my friend has one that's what made me interested.I have Virgin internet security on my lap top so i assume the T V will be safe.0

Sadly, it won't stop you watching the junk channels, best bet is tape over the number buttons on the remote, or take out the batteries;)4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 + Octopus Flux leccy0

Nothing you do on your laptop will make your TV safe. But it will be safe anyway if you're connecting with wires, or if you have good security on WiFi, and also have good, complex passwords on any user accounts.0

Francesanne - 'Panasonic Viera Smart TV' is not a model. Smart TVs are a minefield, and just because your Panasonic has some features, doesn't mean that the one billyolly is looking at does. You both need to quote the Model Number of the TV to make your posting relevant and helpful.
I would recommend Panasonic TVs as a brand IN GENERAL as they give a good picture.0 -
To be honest panny TVs are rubbish when it comes to smart features. They don't support old models either so expect to lose apps as time goes on. Perhaps you'd be better looking at something else.0
