I had one of those. Even at 110,000 miles, it used almost no oil at all. It was driven quite gently though.
Have you checked to see whether there are rust holes in the sump? The sump on mine became quite porous and had to be replaced.0 -
Check the engine breathers are clean and not clogged up if they are clogged up it will burn oil.
Then the oil your using 15/40 should be fine for this car any thinner in the OHV may burn.
Failing that if it still using it a compression test will tell you if the bottom end is worn out or the top end which ever.0 -

compression test will only tell you there's a leak in a cylinder.
leak down test will tell you where the compressed air is being leaked up or down.
don't put 15/40 in it.
keep to spec that in the hand book.0 -
OH did oil change approx. 2-3 months ago, checked today as mot 2mo and no oil in car
I assume you have removed the engine undertray when looking for any leaks ...
and the oil filter was checked that it had not loosened ...
as said, have it serviced properly, with the engine breathers cleaned it should be fine, but check the oil level more regularly, such as once a week ... :cool:C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z # 40 spanner supervisor. No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thought.Only after the last tree has been cut down.
