We bought a 'smart' tv over a year ago, which was able to access BBC iPlayer, YouTube, and some other services, but didn't have a browser. YouTube have recently withdrawn their services from Toshiba, so now we can't access YouTube on the tv at all. Where do we stand on this? Do we have any rights? We bought the tv specifically for the online services offered, and now, one has been taken away. As I stated, there is now browser app on the tv, so we can't access YouTube through that.

What would you like to happen?
Also, it's not Youtube, but Youtube XL which is being terminated.

2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
I have an LG smart TV and I can access Youtube via the Google Chrome browser I've installed as well as the App. But if I remember, with the Toshiba TV I only kept for less than 24 hours before I returned it (as it was such a poorly designed set), you couldn't install a browser on it."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

I would like to access the services that I bought the tv for. Whether it's Youtube, or Youtube XL.0 -
You have the right to watch the channels and services still available through this particular TV set.Where do we stand on this? Do we have any rights?
If such online services are so important to you, then your only alternative is to get a different telly. We bought the tv specifically for the online services offered, and now, one has been taken away.
It is third party Google who have terminated the service. It would be no different if the BBC or ITV closed one of their TV channels-Toshiba would have no liability.
Incidentally, you can't be that bothered by this cancellation because the service ended in June and you are only complaining about it in October?:)0 -
