Parents or rental house address on Mortgage application

I live in a rental house but have kept all my correspondence registered with my parents (who live near by), I pay no bills in my rental property (just a monthly rent, contract is fine). What address should I be working from for certifying/mortgage application? Should I consider changing any of them over as I have been putting in offers on properties to buy.

Thanks
Mick

Rental address:
Tenancy agreement/rent

Parents:
Electoral roll
Passport
Drivers license
Bank statements/Credit card
Work pay slips
Post etc

Why are you not using your current address? I can understand some things if you haven't been there long but the police can fine you £1k for not having your current address on your driving license! I assume one bill you are paying in your rental adders is council tax? Plus I imagine you are getting gas, water and electric bills in your rental that are evidence of your residence?

Any credit check will want to know all your addresses for the last 7 years, so will include your parents address and not having your current address match the electoral roll could affect you. Therefore I'd get that changed over ASAP along with your driving license (plus car insurance) and use your current address on mortgage applications so it matches. Otherwise I wouldn't be too worried about changing over the other things on your list as you'll have utility bills/council tax should you need hard copy proof of address.

I would keep everything at your parents address and use that, seems less complicated.

My DS1 is in the same situation. To answer Kynthia's point, his car lives with us still, so legally his driving licence matches his car insurance which matches where the car is kept.

The police can't fine people. And all that is required for a driving licence is an address at which the holder can be contacted.

Hopefully OP will not be panicked into changing addresses on things right now and making things worse. All the important stuff is listed at parents' address and this is what he should stick to for a mortgage application.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

Shouldn't you have been paying council tax at your rental property? And bills? Was it a house share or lodger agreement, or an actual rental tenancy agreement?

To be fair it's hard to be sure what's right with articles like this:
    http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-2337363/Could-fined-1-000-invalid-driving-licence.html

Considering its free to change your address on your driving license and it's misrepresentation if you don't insure the car at the address it's kept, I know what I'd do with these two.

It's an actual rental tenancy agreement but all bills/council tax are included (The landlord keeps one room for a few days a month and handles all bills).

I'm more concerned about slowing down a mortgage application and if I need to start transferring over all details as 'Silvercar' (and several other people) have said transferring now might make it worse.

So are you planning on declaring your current address at all on your application?

Are you going to declare your rent as an outgoing?

At which address are you on the electoral roll?

    Parents - seen it now.

It's either a tenancy, where your son is a tenant with the associated rights/protection and has 'exclusive possession' of the whole property or a room depending on the contract. Or there is a resident landlord and your son is a lodger with few rights and only a 'license to occupy' and no tenancy.

I had the same situation - and use my parents address.

I moved for university and didnn't move home properly to 10 years later and all important documents were still sent to my parents house, it was safer than having bank statements etc sent to shared houses where we moved every year.

Many young people keep all correspondance at parents address's - from a security point of view it makes sense.

The only thing I ever changed was my doctors! (obviously paid bills etc at my rentals - but as they were mainly houseshares, some years they were in my name, some they weren't).
