nPower Raising Prices 10.4% - when will fixes disappear?

Not in my case, I've just tried it via Cheap Energy Club, out of curiosity, the March 2015 tariff shows but you get the message 'go to site' option only rather than the 'switch and get cashback'.
Don't know if that is due to my region or that I am already with EDF.
The reason it doesn`t show for you on MSE or Energyhelpline is because you`re already with EDF.
These sites get about £60 for everyone who they get to switch COMPANIES.0 -
nPower called back and they said the discount is applied pro-rata, so if you leave early you still get the discount for the period you were with them for.
I've just switched via MoneySuperMarket. The £15 cashback will make up for me having to pay £5 more in December and I can't risk prices going up even further before switching, but it's still a shame to leaving such a great tariff!
The other thing I like about this tariff is that it encourages lower use (because there's only a single unit price), which can only be a good thing.

That seemed to be the obvious reason, but I recall the 2017 EDF tariff was available to switch to via the comparison site when I did the comparison. I may have just imagined that.I came, I saw, I melted0 -

Same thing with me, but on Scottish Power tariff. They show you the expensive January 2017 fix, but not the cheap March 2015 and December 2014 fixes: because I would just stay with Scottish Power on March 2015.
Moneysupermarket.com hides them, uswitch.com does not.
This is if you tick the box that shows all tariffs.0 -
I think the long term tariffs like npower, and EDF 2017 will still be on for a while, its the short fixed, and cheap deals that will be pulled sooner rather than later, and replaced with a slightly higher tariff, as each new tariff is yet another price hike0

I was with NI power and changed to Airtricity because cheaper.. Then Budget Energy said they will always be 11% cheaper than both companies. So in process of changing. Any one got a better deal. I have a pay as you go meter. Heard Martin Lewis say to try and get fixed rate but was told NI cant do this. Anyone know different.0

The Old NPower fixed until March 2017 is gone. Replaced by a fixed December 2017. It's about £100 a year more expensive for me (than the March deal), so not worth it.0 -
You can't get fixed tariffs on prepayment meters. If your credit rating is half-decent and you aren't in a lot of debt (say £100+) they'll be able to replace your meter with a credit meter, which'll open up all the tariffs for you. 3 of the big 6 even swap the meters for free.I was with NI power and changed to Airtricity because cheaper.. These long term fixes, now up to Dec 2017, seem to have suddenly sprung up since Red Ed says he`ll freeze prices.
Are the power suppliers panicking people into these deals which may turn out to be dearer in the long run when Ed fixes what is broken.
I would say if you do go in for a long term deal make sure there`s no exit penalties so you can get out if you need to.0
