    Evening Diary :)

What a great weekend for weather (after the forecast was rain all day) here meaning the patio and setts are all in and jointed :j and some other fiddly bits and pieces done. Looking really good now :D

Work for me so I missed most of the sunshine, but a full on day and evening tomorrow with a stop off at the tip somewhere inbetween and office viewing first thing.

Cleared some more stuff out of the garage tonight so the bins are full for collection on Tuesday (as well as the car boot). Looking much better in there.

Ended up with a chip shop dinner on Saturday night but a NSD today as we had spag bol from the freezer.

    Financials:
    - bank account checked - biz banking done and paid myself rest of month
    - freepostcodelottery has been checked
    - Inbox Pounds up at £18.36
    - Qmee added 6p to the pot - now at 28p
    - Qu!dco have sent me £2.63

Not much housework done but ironed the few bits that needed doing and cleared the utility room of stuff to it's rightful place.

Alex - glad you looked into and found what your ISP provides.

Sounds like Little K's school will have less peer pressure on the gadget front which is a good thing :)

You've got a good few years to think about the right car for restoration and him learning to drive - I started thinking about if DS would need his own car and about him having my runaround and me the sports car 2 years ago..and then it all changed last year so I'm back at square one :)

The business has grown since having the office - partly because I've extended my working hours with DS having a key for home and maybe also because it's given a more professional image. Looking forward to the viewing tomorrow - it seems to fit the bill on paper :)

Going to head to bed, realise now I've sat down that I'm pretty tired :rotfl:

Hope everyone has had a good weekend :)

Weather was good here also. I'm glad to hear your garden is really starting to come together. :)

Shouldn't be too much peer pressure on the gadget front from the school, to be honest now I know the "other choice" as an adult through my music work, if this school works for him I may be tempted to keep him there until he's 11 (not just to do with gadgets). Would not hesitate if they'd have him until he's 13 and ready for senior school but I have concerns about what we'd do if he left current (think I can say current now) school at 11 and "other choice" wouldn't take him for two years.

Never too early to be thinking about cars. :D;) Have you thought about a classic for your son as his first car? If he wants something a bit more practical than a roadster, a MGB GT holds a surprising amount of stuff or a Series Land Rover (petrol with overdrive). I reckon the Landy would appeal to his military interest. Should be cheap to insure through your local NFU too. :)

Good luck with the office viewing,I hope it's the one. :)

Lovely to see you MiT - hope you're taking it easier til you're fully recovered :) Sending virtual cake your way :D

Viewing didnt happen unfortunately - phone call received just as I was about to head there, rescheduled for Wednesday though :j

Great work day, didn't get to tip, boot still full but should get the opportunity tomorrow. Billable stuff more important as it's countdown to the long break :)

Mortgage Interest Update is in with the online account update :j

    Last month - £362.49, this month £359.39 - a nice reduction of £3.10.

Daily amount drops from £11.92 to £11.82.

Since 31 Dec 2013 it's dropped from £410.32 p/m - that's £50.95 that gets paid as capital now instead of interest and feels like free money. Woop! :T Really starting to feel like I'm making inroads.

Changes the OP slightly, upping it to £301.98 for the month and £3620.30 to date.

    Financials
    - bank account checked - out went pension pot payment, in came Qu!dco's £2.63
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Inbox Pounds up at £18.43
    - Qmee still 28p

TT phone & broadband bill arrived and paid immediately for the 10% speedy discount, saving £2.69

    Had a NSD too.

Another early night needed - really tired at the moment, but work biggies now delivered and I've got a day off (well housework and cake making) on Wednesday in readiness for all the family here for the evening.

A pleasing start to the week :)

Good luck for Wednesday, glad to hear you had a good work day, though. :)

Fantastic news regarding the mortgage, £50 less in interest is certainly a significant amount. :)

Can you believe this...viewing appointment now on Friday. So much for the good feeling I had about it! Have driven to see the outside though.

Still not got to the tip either, that's now a 'first thing tomorrow' job.

More good money news - current account interest credited of £14.22 - only a few days into August and already nearly £20 of free money :D

Forgotten to post a birthday card  so going to try and drive there this evening - about 20 mins away. Will be a great boost if I can do that without eye issue or panic setting in (BBs shall be taken). Talking of which, the glasses with new lenses haven't made any difference - feel a bit sea-sick wearing them so guess it's a case of persevering. Trouble is I wear contacts during the day, maybe try just glasses for the day tomorrow and see how I go.

Not much else to report today and yet to do the other financials. Ooh have had another NSD though :D and brought yet more stuff back from the office.

I presume it's an agent messing you about rather than the potential landlord? If it's the potential landlord it may be worth thinking about how he will deal with any issues you have with the office.

You put far more effort into delivering a birthday card than I would, to be honest if they got it late, so be it. :rotfl: Have you thought about wearing the glasses instead of the contact lenses - could they be causing the problems?

Yes, it's the agent but they're dependant on the present occupier...let's hope Friday comes good.

Now you're getting into complex territory with contacts and glasses :rotfl: as I'm now long sighted, short sighted, lazy eye and now eyes not working together and the glasses cover only two of those...so for anything close up (reading and laptop) I have to wear contacts and reading glasses, for distance (general and driving) I can use the other glasses.

If these glasses work then we're heading into discussions of vari-focals I think . Thought they were for old people, not the wrong side of 40 ;)

:rotfl: I'd not hear the last of it if I hadn't delivered the birthday card (long story short ;)) - job done with BBs though vision wasn't perfect and the best bit, DS came with me and talked incessantly there and back. That's the most I've heard him talk in a very long time :rotfl: He's back to teenager in man-cave now though :rotfl:

Glad to hear it's not the landlord messing you about if it was, I'd be very weary.

I think I'll leave the eye advice to the professionals in the future! Mrs K is very short sighted (perhaps in more ways than one :rotfl:) and I know she is quite concerned about her eyesight in the future.

No one would expect me to remember a birthday (apart from Mrs K and son)! My son isn't quiet for a minute, he talks almost constantly when he's awake, I think I'd welcome a quiet day. :)
