The march to financial freedom

Thanks Ig - how naughty of some rogue spammer to steal my mortgage capital payment thunder this morning :rotfl: The Spanish Bank have changed their phone line opening time too - not open until 9am now.
A good day on the work front and some office space to follow up on tomorrow.
Glasses are in at the opticians and will make time to collect those tomorrow, especially as panic came on driving a regular local road today. Feel like I'm back at square one
Financials:
- bank account checked
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Inbox Pounds up at £17.93
- Qmee still 11p
- Nectar points worth £45.30
- P!necone - requested my £3 from last night to PPal
DS wants another haircut and I need a trim and eyebrows doing too, so appointments to make for those. Roll on a low spend month, it's never ending at the moment.
Electricity meter reading needed to send off by close of play Friday - that's added to the short and now lengthening To Do list :rotfl:
I've provisionally budgeted a £1,000 mortgage payment for end of August - aiming high as I'd like to get to 2 figures by December 2016 and that means £1k a month minimum to achieve it. They'll only be 1 week of earnings next month too, but I'm booking work in for September already so I'm fairly confident I can back fill the savings it'll eat up over the autumn.
Wondering where else I can save money - think I need to start the weekly TT's again as they built up quite quickly, plus move the little bits like P!necone and coins banked to savings - it's all going into the current account at the moment which is yo-yo'ing and pulling me backwards a bit.
Must remember the good stuff - I'm 4 months CC debt free, have savings, the mortgage is going down nicely, business is good and I'm happy with my lot :TPS I've put the heating on Ssshhhh.....

Evening Diary,
It's been an expensive day:
£84 DS school transport payment made for first half term
£60 Doodle groom - last one I hope with having the new clippers :j
£1.10 town parking to collect glasses and 45p on a bottle of water as visual migraine came on and felt very unwell for a while.
At least I can cross those off my list of things to pay out for, which leaves boiler service, wisdom tooth extraction, DS back to school items and haircuts (yet to book those).
Financials:
- bank account checked - £3 in from PPal for P!necone survey
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Inbox Pounds - up at £17.99
- Qmee - picked up some more, pot doubled to 22p
Going to do the weekly food shop shortly, though DS is coming so expecting a bigger bill and items in trolley that aren't on my list! Meal plan done and we've got quite a bit of healthy food still, but surprise surprise, that's not what teenagers want for snacks :rotfl:
Have paid myself some salary to make sure I don't get hit with the £5 bank account fee and gain the 4% interest, will do the rest Friday or Saturday.
Some work admin stuff done and a busy couple of billable work days coming up. This weekend I've got alot of work I need to do for delivery Monday - getting ahead and helps to offset time off next month.
Right, Ald! here we come, just as the grey clouds arrive and it looks like rain!
Hope everyone's had a good hump dayBack on the DFW Wagon:

:rotfl: Honestly, I haven't rushed around today - it's been more akin to a day off with a sprinkling of work
. Does make me wonder how I used to get stuff done when I was employed and especially when I had the long daily commute. Just always seems to be so much to do and so easy to fall behind otherwise.
INOD you've kondo'ed more than I've achieved in a lifetime :rotfl: Keep saying I need to start.
Food shop done and DS was both a great help and good with just a couple of extra things he wanted - total spend £22.47. With that out of the way, a NSD should be possible tomorrow. Hope so, fed up groaning each time money has to leave me :rotfl:
Skinny, your diary post was a great reminder of how far we've come, so easy to forget with concentrating on the here and now and looking to the future (and if you're me, worrying about it).
Managed one last thing tonight - eating strawberries. YumBack on the DFW Wagon:

Evening Diary
A good work day and a NSD - should be another one tomorrow too.
Changed hygienist appointment so it's 6 weeks after wisdom tooth comes out and pushes the cost of it out too into October.
Made haircut and eyebrow appointments for next month.
Must take elec and gas readings for my spreadsheet (been a month) and submit the electric one for billing as well - will do that in a minute whilst it's still light as I'm bound to forget it otherwise
Financials:
- bank account checked - all tallies against budget sheet which is ready for the new month
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Inbox Pounds - up at £18.06
- Qmee still 22p
Think that's all to report today, a nice quiet one on the money front and I've also sorted the 2 August birthdays, so it's onwards to September next - DS will be 15 and wants money and a card for another relative.
Nearly the weekend :j though I'm working, so don't know what I'm so excited about :rotfl:. Perhaps the weather will be kind and the garden works will move further forwardBack on the DFW Wagon:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: At your son wanting "money" for his birthday.... it's all downhill from there, Ali.
Seriously, I dread the day mine asks for money.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
:rotfl: It went downhill about age 10 then :rotfl:
Aside from the expensive gaming laptop in 2013, he's had money for his birthday for several years now - he saves about two-thirds of it and tends to split the rest between books and his online gaming.
This year, he wants to replace his iPad - he has an early one and it's not supported by some software now, so he'll get the usual £100 from me and normally end ups with close on £450 total with relatives and friends money gifts. He's after a new series of fiction books and some non-fiction history ones too.
He's not interested in much else, which might be a good thing. No designer clothes, trainers or phones that cost alot.
I think him having money for gifts quite young and me discussing saving vs. spending and 'free money' from interest has helped him save alot and learn the value of money.
Then there's the road kill he picks up from the school playground and apparently he sells his knowledge at school for £1 a go :rotfl: Paid upfront before he helps his mates who haven't done their homeworkEntrepreneurial or extortion? :rotfl:
