Anyways too much discussion for my very foggy post-tablet-induced-coma head. Migraine horror prompted use of one of the horse tranquillisers Ali.
Glad to see you are doing well, and don't I wish I could turn back time in the way you are turning your mortgage into a teenager!!will be excited for you tomorrow!!
Big hugs xx
I suppose I'm "lucky" to be an only child with older parents. On the other hand I have no one to help me look after them into their old age and I'm not sure anything makes up for everybody assuming my father was my grandfather when I was younger.
Get well soon. It's mortgage update day :j No surprise as I've been babbling on about it :rotfl:
£930 capital payment gone to the Spanish Bank and 3 milestones achieved :j
Last month - £120,480, LTV 46.34%, 9.71% paid off, 4.14 months off end date
Now £119,550, LTV 45.98%, 10.41% paid off, 4.55 months off end date
The split:
£27,345 - sits at £24,000
£106,099 - now at £95,550
I'm into the teens, LTV has dropped into the 45s and finally, I've hit 10% paid off. That has been a very long time coming - 17 months!
Spreadsheet fiddling shows if I can pay £960 next month, it'll take 5 months off the end date. Thinking of hitting the smaller part going forward so it's gone by time the fixed rate ends.
I think interest will reduce by @ £2.80 for May, will take a week or so to view the figure on line
This is excellent, well done Ali.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
Thanks peeps
INOD I've been doing a bit of this :j away from DS though :rotfl: and dogs looked a bit worried :rotfl:
Percentage should start to roll along nicely now, bit of a snowball effect and wrapping the interest into capital (just as a normal repayment mortgage would do). It's getting it going and hanging on in there - can't believe I've paid over £13k off :T
I'm up another step of the stairs now with ownership at 54.02%
Following INOD's lead and breaking it down, goal is get that £24k paid off by 31st December 2017.
Must get some work done now - it pays the mortgage!Back on the DFW Wagon:

AlexLK sorry I am the middle child of the 3 younger ones, with an absent younger sister so unofficially I am now the youngest with parents who were always old when I was little. My dad is nearing 70 now so I feel your pain. On the other hand, siblings don't share the work with looking after parents. My mum single-handedly does everything for my Nanny (85) and my Pop who died a few weeks ago, while one brother is in Canada and the other cries that it is too far for him to come very often as he is about an hours drive away. Pretty sure I know what is going to happen with my parents too despite the fact I am 250 miles away. Thanks for the get well
Ali... I am LOLing at the dogs. Much :j here on your behalf as soon as I can do so! xxx

A quick eve update.
Tired tonight, must have been all the celebrating this morning :rotfl:
DS has swapped his £1 coins with me for a note, meaning I've another £20 in £1's to bank, along with the £1 in 2p's. A nice addition to next month's mortgage payment
Not much else to report - usual financials all checked and another NSD today.
New spreadsheet possibly coming up - a how much can I pay myself by month
Hope everyone's had a good day.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Great mortgage work Ali :j !! I love these posts

I'm hoping now the mortgage is a teenager it's not going to start getting moody and cheeky :rotfl:!!!

:rotfl: How will I cope with 2 teenagers - DS and the mortgage
. Best I get it paid down to 112k as soon as possible then :rotfl:
Today won't be a NSD, I've reserved my replacement Magi-Can from Argoose which will cost me £4.49. Out of my last 'spends' money for April...leaving me 51p which will go in the change pot.
50p's will be up to £9 and I get my 'monthly allowance' out of the bank for general spends for May tomorrow.
It'll be food shop day at Ald! today too.
The use and pay off CC month has rolled over, so that's set up for full payment to go on 19th May. Got a £5 to query though, as I paid to have a weekend delivery for the new business phone and according to the company it hadn't gone through, so I did it again. Now showing 2 payments  Have fired an email off but will speak to CC provider as they'll refund then claim from the provider.
Work calls for now though. Have a good day allBack on the DFW Wagon:

So the food shop didn't happen as I ended up working late and DS is snacking on dry weetabix as a snack. Urgh. I'll do it tomorrow night I expect.
I have got my new Magi-Can thoughHere's starting a new long-term relationship, if it's made as good as the old one (what's the betting it's not!). It's inaugural can opening yet to be decided but will feature in the new week's meal plan :j
Long story short with the 2 delivery charges - CC company will dispute/stop second payment if it's taken, delivery company want a copy of both payments on the statement...which hasn't happened as one is pending and will be disputed if they try to take it...see the cycle! Suggestion to delivery company to check their records has resulted in...no reply :rotfl: Clearly the idea has blown them away :rotfl:
And yay, it's pay myself rest of the month day tomorrow :j. My budget sheet is showing savings will go up to £9,450.38. In that, I've budgeted for boiler service and hygienist.
Might have a vets bill too. Springy has had a couple of small lumps for a year or two which vet isn't concerned about, but I've found a much larger fluidy type lump between his shoulder blades tonight. Hoping it's nothing but it's big and though it's not bothering him as far as I can tell, ought to get it checked out.

Yay, it's May :j. A favourite month with nights even lighter for longer, the whole summer to look forward to, proper warmth in the sun and only 14 weeks until we're on our summer holiday abroad
I've still got some April jobs to do thoughBusiness banking, getting my monthly allowance money out and the last food shop of the month. Must hit Ald! tonight as we're almost out of milk and other essentials. Meal plan done for next week so just the shopping list to write and remember to take. I've been known to leave it behind a bit too often . Will do the bank bits in the morning and then month end accounts to do.
Almost sorted on the delivery charge issue too
Started on the usual weekend housey stuff - washing on, bins emptied, towels changed and a kitchen clear up done.
Financials:
- bank account checked
- freepostcodelottery checked. Geolotto is now offering a completely free game without a deposit, so I've joined up and dug up 17p. Think I can withdraw any amount, so along with Qmee got a couple of little earners ticking away
- Qmee gave me some more too, that pot is up to 16p
- Inbox Pounds - still plodding away and up at £10.78
- Nectar - need to check.
Working tomorrow afternoon and out tomorrow night. Will pick up some nibbles at Ald! to take with us.
