You can get those frozen baguettes that you then partly cook. They are generally extremely good (the ones I've had from the Co-op and Waitrose). Milk I also freeze - it reheats pretty well. I'd probably do more of both if I had more freezer room. Porridge I like with apple juice, actually.0

Do you mean you like porridge and then a glass of apple juice...or do you mean porridge made with apple juice?
Porridge made with Hazelnut milk is lovely, i would recommend it to anyone, especially with a dollop of PB0 -

I hate frozen milk, and no those ready to cook things aren't great (but we do buy them somtimes, we call them Emergency Bread lol for when the boats are cancelled and there is nothing in the shops).
I make porridge with half water, half skim milk, and use 100% skim in the microwave type.0 -

Never even seen hazlenut milk.0 -
Never even seen hazlenut milk.
it'll be with the Almond milk in the supermarket. It gives porridge a really creamy nutty flavour0 -
oh I quite like the frozen bread - it has always reheated very well for me
And the milk has also been fine, as long as it is heated in the microwave before I do anything else with it. I'm not a big milk drinker though, I have to say - if you were, you might feel differently.
WantToBeSE, I mean I make the porridge with apple juice rather than milk. Very nice. I like cereal with juice rather than milk too.0 -
I am american, we actually drink milk instead of soda or fruit juice (at least we did when I was growing up as weren't the size of houses lol).
I drink skim, and having no fat i'll drink/use UHT so it doens't have to be bought fresh. But the others in the house use 2% and that 'tastes funny' to them UHT so they won't. I think the fat gets a 'cooked' taste from the UHT process?
We only just got almond milk here, no hazelnut milk yet. I'll keep an eye out for it.
I used to put orange juice in the weetabix I made my kids when they were babies. They weren't big on meat then(now they all want Steak yikes!), and I wanted them to get iron. And you can't absorb the iron in weetabix as easily as meat, but it gets better if you have vitamin C in it as that helps your body absorb it. I was a biologist once upon a time lol.0 -
I think Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall said on some TV programme or other that eating muesli with orange juice makes more sense than eating it with milk. I have met people who are completely horrified by that idea.
I have been known to get most of my veg nutrients from frozen broccoli and peas - incredibly convenient and no waste, you don't get them going off in the veg drawer as you do with fresh veg and they taste just as good once cooked.0 -
I have fat free Greek yogurt with cereal and fruit - the cereal stays crunchy till the end of the bowl :j.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Gallygirl, Greek yoghurt is very very good all on its own with just honey and fruit, too0
