How to fall in love with saving money

Just timed it
at 34 seconds - URL saved as a bookmark so chrome fills it in as soon as I type HAL..., lastpass fills in username/password, three characters from dropdown, click make a payment, click existing recipient, enter amount, lastpass fills in password again, click confirm, done :A
Speedy!
I have a page of links to my banks and investment platforms, so that's just one click, I use Password Safe rather than lastpass (I have no intention of letting my passwords be stored outside my control), and have to take time selecting the right existing recipient, and reading the confirmation screen (too many recipients called Eco miser)

Evening all.
Good news my TCB payout arrived today and went straight into my savings. I only requested it a couple of days ago so was very impressed at how quick it paid out.
I also went to tesco today. Bought some asparagus which was good value and British. I don't think I will get to the farm this weekend as we are hoping to spend some time in the garden. We are making it low maintenance with sleepers, shrubs and bark chippings.
Night all.0 -
I miss the confused face - but they got rid of it some years ago because it was often used critically.
I think the whole moving money round thing comes down to time and effort. If you have the self discipline and the cash flow to do it then great.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

The critical thing is having your finances very well organized - if you do then the additional time and effort is minimal, it's really less than five minutes for me a couple of times a month. Individually the amounts are relatively small, but overall it is in excess of £1,000 a year for me above what i'd get if I left the same money sitting in a (top rated!) ISA, so well worth it.
If your finances aren't already very organized then the sense in moving money around is questionable; it would be a lot more work, and prone to errors undoing all your hard work.0 -
Morning all! Lovely sunny morning out there. Another thing to get my head round, besides YNAB, current accounts and salaries, is what the implications are when Isas become Nisas, which is going to happen in a couple of months. I haven't done anything with my cash Isa this tax year but I am putting money into my S&S Isa as per normal, so I assume that will limit my options. But I suppose it will become clearer in due course.
Anyway: today I really am going to tackle YNAB. You read it here first!0 -
YNAB and my car insurance!!! Via Topcashback. Two things to do today.0

I haven't even updated my signature for the whole of April! How lazy is that? Time to knuckle down again, absolutely.0

Did you save anything in April (think so?)
Have you adjusted your food budget for april and did you go over it?0 -

For people with S&S ISAs, they will be able to move back into cash while remaining tax-free. (Maybe selling enough shares for a year or two's income when they retire early and the market is high?)
For everyone, the annual allowance jumps to £15k.Eco Miser
