My 30th birthday next year - ideas

I'm 30 next July and want to go away for my birthday with my GF somewhere.
Problem is - there are so many possibilities and I'm kinda brainstorming at the minute.
1) New York for 5-7 nights - never been to America before but always wanted to go to NY
2) 10 night all inclusive holiday to Barbados, or The Maldives or somewhere like that
3) Or something in between - maybe visiting a few different cities in Italy or something as that's my favourite country.
We are not super adventurous, just like simple stuff like relaxing, wondering around a city with no real plan, going out for dinner and some drinks, etc...
Anyone help me brainstorm a bit, any suggestions or ideas?

New York all the way!
What is your budget for the holiday?0 -
My birthday is July 28th, however I don't mind travelling in Early July, August, etc... it doesn't have to be for the actual day itself.
Budget is very flexible, maybe £1000 - £1250 per person. That's for flights, accomodation.Amo L'Italia0 -
If you like big cities and shopping New York HAS to be done.
2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
New York is very hot and sticky in July.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

It depends on your budget, how long you want to go for and where you're flying from but I'd go:
Phnom Penh
Las Vegas
Seoul
Istanbul
Lisbon

Probably best you do alter it as the end of July is often the most expensive week/end of the entire year!
NYC will be very hot then. Id go in later Sept if you want to go there. Or you could do Vegas at same time?
If you want to do Caribbean you need to check hurricane season.0 -
Yes, avoid the end of July as once the schools break up, the prices shoot up. Best fares are often in June when demand is much lower and the weather may be better. Agreed July is not the best time for NY, all the locals leave for The Hamptons and leave the tourists to steam in the heat.
5 nights in a good hotel in NY at the start of June would be a great present for yourself, but if you haven't been to Venice then you could go there and propose perhaps...China demands a longer holiday, there is so much to see and it is a cultural shock outside the main cities, jet lag is much worse going east than west, so you arrive worn out anyway and need a few days to recover.0
