The service tag will enable people to post a link to the page of drivers for that computer.0

OK, so armed with the list of drivers, is the suggestion that we update any of those tagged as 'Urgent' or 'Recommended' on the Dell support page ...?0

The suggestion as to supply us with the Service Tag...but you appear resistant to the suggestion. So perhaps you are better off just doing it yourself.
Have no idea as to why you posted here if you seem to think that you know just as much as we do.0 -
I suspect (s)he thinks supplying the tag will compromise privacy.

what's this 'we' all about? there's only you that's asked for the service tag.0 -
Since the Service Tag appears to be an identifier which uniquely identifies when we bought the machine, the spec it was built in, and presumably, from the data behind all of this, identifies uniquely our household ..... yes, I admit, I'm reluctant to post it in open forum.
I don't know what you know, so I don't know if I know as much as you do. I also don't know what access, if any, you have to Dell's systems beyond the public access that I've found with the service tag.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a tinfoil hat to make, and a book to write about how they faked the Apollo moon landings.....(!)0 -

Perhaps there is more than one person here. Does that help you?
Anyway, I'm sure the OP will manage with your help

Yes...tinfoil hat indeed. But since you took the trouble to explain, I will do so too.
It doesn't give me access to any personal details, but to identify the exact model.
That way I can write a precise guide.
So if you are concerned about posting it on the public forum, you can send it via PM.
Next time, make it clear, instead of obfuscating and wasting the time of people trying to help. :money:0
