What would cause fungi in engine?

    ex lease not cleaned since new lots of debris and dust under there dealer or lease co steamed it for it to go back it didn't dry out with outside air temp and the car hasn't been driven a distance just to load on loader and moved about the yard fungi grew.

    I would be concerned that the pollen filter is in the engine bay and has the spores growing on that. ask for the pollen housing to be cleaned off and the filter replaced and fire retardant cleaned down and sprayed.
