Orange to REFUND ALL calls to 07744 number upto 22nd June 07

Hi,
i have been speaking to Orange Customers Services. They have advised that if any of their customer used 07744/07755 number between the 8th June to 22nd June. All calls will be refunded (no matter how much it cost!) and guess what? YOU DONT'T EVEN LOSE YOUR MINUTES!!!!!!!.

SO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS GREAT OFFER! - AS ASDA SAY:-

'WHEN ITS GONE ITS GONE!'

    Can you get it in writing off them !! Would hate to see all orange users on this site battering those numbers then getting billed for it !

    I will try to contact them and see if they can send me a quick email from Customer services saying this info..

    Have you tried calling them on 150?

    No i'm on virgin and voda but dont want people getting carried away on here only to find they will get billed for it !!

    I would never trust word of mouth on subjects like this, they have a nasty habbit of coming back and biteing you on the ricker, if they sent letters out stating what the orignal post said then fair play but to just say it over the phone sounds as dodgy as a £25 note.

    I rather suspect the OP has misunderstood something, as it seems very unlikely indeed that Orange are promoting this as a special offer.

    Maybe it's just a postponed introduction of new charges they have announced. Or just as likely, maybe the 22nd is the date for introduction of charges on other contracts not yet given notice.

    I only found out today about the change in Orange policy on 07744 access nos, having received no text message. I purchased my Orange contract phone via e2save last Dec.

    I had earlier made a 15 min 07744 call. After seeing this thread, I was reassured that I would be reimbursed for this call charge.

    However, I spoke with Orange Customer Services a short while ago. Aside from the unexpected (07744 are calling card numbers which we never supported etc), I was told that Orange will not refund all calls made upto 22 June. I made one 07744 call on 10 June and another today.

    Can anybody categorically confirm if Orange will refund all 07744 calls upto June 22 on our next bill? I'm just wondering if this was a wild rumour and the Orange rep I spoke to earlier was right, or they weren't given the correct info with regards to this short period of grace in refunding 07744 calls.

    Would appreciate any confirmation asap. Thanks.

    I received this in my email if its of use to anyone, confirming that calls to these numbers will be refunded.

    Dear David

    Thank you for your mail.

    I am sorry to learn you are unhappy with the charges for 07744 and 07755 numbers.

    As of 8th June, all consumer customers will be charged 20ppm for calls to numbers using these prefixes.

    From June 8th, calls made to 07744 and 07755 numbers will cost 20p per minute and are no longer included in inclusive minutes. This change brings us inline with other networks who charge for this service, and our rate is still cheaper than networks such as Vodafone and O2 who charge 35p and 21p respectively. Therefore if you wish to continue calling these numbers, we still offer a competitive rate.

    As we weren't able to give you much notice, we'll refund you in your July bill for any charges from calls to these numbers between the 8th and 22nd June.”

    Your contract with Orange is for either 12, 18 or 24 months from the date that your phone is connected to the network, depending on the terms of your agreement. If you want to cancel your phone before the end of the contract, you will still have to pay all of the charges relating to the account throughout the term of the agreement.

    Alternatively, if you want to transfer your phone into another name you should go through the Customer Account Transfer procedure.

    To transfer your Orange phone into somebody else's name, the new user needs to call our Customer Account Transfer department on 0800 0790005. A credit check will be carried out, and the full process explained. On completion, which includes settlement of any outstanding bills, your agreement for this phone will end.

    For further assistance please call our Customer Services on 150 from an Orange pay monthly phone, or 07973-100150 from a landline, where any of our representatives will be pleased to assist you. Our helpdesk in open 8am until 10pm 7 days a week.
