Sold a nappy bag on ebay (I have 100% positive feedback) and have never had a problem. sent the item away and buyer contacted me to say the nappy bag I sold is missing a separate bottle pouch and that my advert was misleading.
The picture of the item and the description are clear it was just the nappy bag included in the sale however they have clearly misunderstood the description which says 'this bag is fitted with all the compartments needed including a pouch for a bottle'
not to get into it any further the pouch is fitted into the bag...its not a separate bottle bag and they are planning on 'speaking to ebay about it'
will ebay make me refund this item? devastated I am obviously going to get negative feedback from this sale and she is going to open a case im presuming. Do I have any way of getting to ebay first or of preventing this? have worked hard to keep my feedback at 100% positive but I know I wasn't in the wrong here. the picture showed one bag, the description was in my eyes fine so I don't see why I should pay to have the item returned or issue a refund!
thanks in advance for your help

What you wrote is open to interpretation, I can see the buyers POV I'm afraid.0

If she opens a case you can put your side of it. If eBay find for the buyer then she has to return it tracked for her own benefit before you have to refund.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. A pouch for a bottle is just like the pouch for a phone you get in handbags these days. It would be clear to me that it's not a bottle bag.0

thank you, maybe open to interpretation ( I have learnt my lesson! and it wont happen agin) However there is no picture of 2 items and the description says 1 item, not 2 separate bags.
buyer has included a picture of someone elses item (selling for 99p-clearly a better deal) as an example of what she is talking about however this isn't how I advertised my item I just simply said bag for sale.
anyway if she wants to return the item I will refund her and sell it on for the same price I think she is just hoping for some money back and chancing her luck. if she sends it back she will be spending more sending it time that the item cost in the first place but will say that to ebay when she opens the case.0 -
#1 Calm Down
#2 Calm down
#3 Ebay will prob expect you to offer a refund but is it likely the buyer will be bothered and want to shell out for the return postage ?
#4 Keep it short, sweet and simple. They could neg you no matter what you do or say so stop worrying but show Ebay that you are reasonable in your responses (ie offer refund).
You can't please all of the people all of the time.0 -
How much is your 100% feedback worth to you? If you're going to be "devastated" as you say, then bite the bullet and get them to return it and give them a refund as long as they agree to get the transaction cancelled. That'll mean no bad feedback for you to worry about and you will get your fees back.
SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0 -
Just tell her you're sorry she's not happy, the bottle pouch is incorporated into the bag, as clearly shown in the photo, but you will give her a full refund if she returns it.
Lots of bags have separate bottle pouches. ..Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

SP
Not true - she can still leave feedback for cancelled transaction.0 -
thanks everyone....think that's it then like someone said if shes going to give me negative feedback I don't think anything I can say or do is going to prevent that. I have apologised for the misunderstanding a few times, she has replied with more pictures of other peoples nappy bags (the ones that have separate bottle bags) and I have replied numerous times explaining my particular bag has a built in pouch, but we are getting no where and going round in circles so I'll just leave her to contact ebay and accept the negative feedback and ebays decision hoo hum0

Ive had pretty much a full year of bliss on Ebay - but the last few months have been hell. People like this don't care that you appologise, try to explain, refund etc - they know they can hurt you - and thats all the nasty little cretins care about.
I sold a 3G phone - UNLOCKED. Roll on a week - and i misdescribed the phone. Its not unlocked - because he can't get his 4G SIM to work properly0
