TTFM, I'm so sorry that your DH feels this way, it's horrible. I have a friend who was head of maths who went into accounting but of course she had to take a drastic pay cut until she was qualified. Good luck with the interview.
Well no DIY yesterday but we did start clearing the loft - we found quite a few boxes we filled when we had the house extended 5 years ago and just needed to get things out of the way. I'd be inclined just to throw them but DH wouldn't hear of it.
I do have a bit of a dilemma, I have a box of dad's Tarzan books from when he was a boy - I did read them myself when I was young and enjoyed them but I can't imagine anyone else in the family wanting to. Should i get rid? They aren't in any condition to re-sell I don't think although maybe i should investigate that.0 -
Morning All
Need to get moving today, back to work tomorrow after a week off. Mind you it has been a really busy week and have got lots done.
Need to take some bedding to the tip now DS2 has gone away, we are downsizing so don't need so many pillows and want to get new ones when he comes home anyway. Will look to see what else has to go to the tip to save journeys.
A friend is having one of the settees so will try to persuade them to take it today, it's not raining at the moment so I could put it on the roof of my car for them.
Tea will be something with vegetables in! Not been very good this last few days, I think salmon would be nice - not had it in a while.
Right, I'm off for a shower, have a good Sunday. Take care. XX0 -

Morning all!
Didn't get a chance to post yesterday, got home from work at 4, tried for a snooze unsuccessfully, then went out for a curry with my brother, came home and watched les miserables again, which I love but it managed to turn me into an emotional wreck last night. It's coming up to a bad time, with OH's birthday, mine and MIL's birthday, his first anniversary etc, and I think that is probably at the back of my mind. Today I need to empty the ironing basket, and organise food for tomorrow as it's my first full day back at work.
Redruby hope you are all ok, hugs to you!
Big hugs to all who need/want one, have a good day all!RIP Iain

TTFM, would private tutoring work for A-level students be an income supplement to a lower paid post where his teaching would be appreciated?0
-
Morning all,
TTFTM - sympathy to DH, DS1 is a maths teacher who is tearing hair out at being told how to teach A Level by a geog teacher: class spoke up for DS & were in trouble too. Ridiculous situation atm in education generally as Ofsted & Gove seem intent on fighting & ignoring the damage done to the pupils.
Chapel this morning & managed to dodge the showers.
Planning to get down all the Christmas decorations and sort out again. It's an annual task but didn't happen last year due to DH's chemo etc. I need to make a decision about the tree lights as we ended up with three different strings last year and it didn't look right. I expect some people will think it's a waste of money and I can't explain the happiness I get from looking at my Christmas tree - it's rooted in the faded paper decorations of my childhood.
Otherwise, it's a lazy day with dinner from the freezer and soup from Mr Heinz for lunch:o:o:o
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
The weather here can't make its mind up at the moment, but it is looking very grey out there so no washing today, the forecast is for rain until Wednesday at least
DH is out on the car putting new glow plugs in (basically diesel spark plugs) that cost another £36 plus £5 for the socket yesterday
The next job is a new steering column switch, bye bye another £75
Our neighbour is coming around tomorrow to give all of the computers a thorough service free for gratisBecause DH gave him some spare Ram.
I told him to do mine first while I am at the doctors for my blood test, it is a fasting one for cholesterol and the hab1c for the diabetes, then hospital on Wednesday.
Good news DNiece had her last chemo on Friday so we are waiting to hear that the cancer has gone, she has done so well bless her.
jools I can't believe it has been nearly a year since you lost Iain (((((((Hugs)))))))

Afternoon everybody,
Weather is still a bit grim, raining on and off.We had to have our dog training class inside today but it was ok and I think the trainer is quite pleased with Lyla.We took her down to a well known pet store for a big chew, she quite enjoyed it as there were a few other dogs in and lots of good smells.DH just managed to stop her 'try before you buy' :rotfl:
DH has gone over to DS2s house to carry on with their wardrobes, they can't afford the doors yet but at least they can move stuff in if the rails are fixed. Not sure who's in for tea yet,but if DS2 comes he'll have to have sausages with being allergic to the chicken I cooked last night.Apple crumble for afters,dh has got the apples out so I don't forget.
Hope you all have a good Sunday x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
