    No are they much cheaper?

In a word - yes. You would probably not find the same choice, nor would you find everything you need for your 'weekly shop' but we split our weekly shop between Tesco/ASDA and LIDL/ALDI. What you do get at LIDL and ALDI is lots of continental foods at up to half the price of the big guys. Fruit and Veg can be 70% cheaper. You won't find all the 'branded' products though.
We reckon that we have, consitently, shaved more than£20 a week off of our 'weekly shop'.

  • Things are getting done..yes!!!

    1) switched to value brands at tesco, huge savings and I then searched for a coupon code, got one for £8 off here....huge shop halved from £120 to £50...took advantage of all the BOGOF if I used the stuff anyway, cats had a reprieve as premium brands half price

    2) Earnt £140 at quidco, goldfish card, a few gambling sites

    3) Rang my bank and asked if they would start reducing my od limit by £100 a month going forward, they were surprisingly nice although they laughed and said most want to increase?!

    4) About to switch from npower but just waiting for green light

    5) Still tiling:confused:
  • Nearly there...

    1) Downgraded my advantage private nat west account to just a private account, saved £220 a year. Should have done ages ago. Will lose my charge card but will use egg blue card instead for cashback.

    2) Switched gas and elecric to EON for fixed tariff till April 09, £70 through quidco. Was going to wait but got a revised NPpower DD of £165 a month for gas and electric:confused:

    3) Rang up 02 and complained about high tariff, they have reduced by £10 a month and given me more minutes and texts and option of free upgrade in March (will sell on ebay).

    4) Tiling myself a false economy:o.

    5) Off to watch a free lovefilm dvd...
  • Nearly forgot, got £150 MEAF back from RBS.....

Welcome back - although you were here originally before me LOL

I am sure you will get rid of the £5k with the same gusto you did before

    Good Luck!
