Classic Andy advice. Take it at your peril.

Andy??? Why?? It works well for me and the same attitude has always seen me through many situations.

An ATOS assessment is simply there to try to find the evidence that would either support a claim or deny one. As I have no faith in these assessments whatsoever, the last thing I would want to do is give them the ammunition and evidence that they could use against me to justify why I shouldn't be awarded the benefit that I had claimed. I'm not going to offer myself up on a plate for no one.

We all know that ATOS are more than willing to read into something that isn't there and expand on answers given to suit their tick box culture.

No way, if they want to deny me a benefit - it is for them to find the evidence and not expect me to give it to them.

Basically, they go through the form that you sent back to them, and just confirm a lot of it, or go into further details if you were not specific enough. Like if the form asks "How do you cook your meals" and you answer "On a cooker" they will ask do you have any problems, like can you open tins, what kind of food you eat, stuff like that.

Unlike ESA there are is no trickery involved, they write down what you tell them on their computer, they don't back track your answers and start cross examining you on tiny irrelevant details like ESA do.

    Do you actually believe that???

Yes they use their computer but do so to see which descriptor you fit and what number of points to award.

If you honestly believe that they will not manipulate any of your answers to suit their own agenda then quite honestly you are a fool

No, you are the fool Andy if you think anyone on here actually believes anything that comes off your keyboard.
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)

Do I really care, no. It's up to everybody to make their own mind up. You do things your way, I do them my way.

But I will remind people in time to come that they were warned but chose to ignore that warning when we will see on here post after post where claimants have said one thing to the PIP assessor, yet the report that was generated bears little or no resemblance to what was said. It happened with ESA and it will happen with PIP.

You misunderstand what i wronte, i mean in the actual assessment right there and then, they do not ask silly questions like with ESA, they do not do the "Well how can you put a hat on if your hands dont work fully then??" right there in the assessment, much more polite than that and keeps it friendly, doesn't try to get you to trip up.
    Owed out = lots.

Sorry I really can't remember much of what was asked but think it was along the lines of the form.

I too felt it was more honest than the esa assessment as she kept telling me what she was typing and confirming that's what I had said.

it was salus on behalf of atos so maybe that's why it was so different who knows and I don't suppose I will know for sure until I hear of the results.

    good luck

trying hard not to get my hopes up for a positive outcome but its hard .... ho hum oh to be well again
Play nice  Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me.:j

I had one of those back in 2011 - not for ESA or DLA but another benefit. The ATOS 'doctor' wrote down what I said more or less and had me sign the report as being a true and complete record of the interview/assessment.

It still didn't make a difference, the 'doctor' submitted a report to the DWP contradicting everything that I had said and to make matters worse couldn't make their mind up with any recommendation so opted for the easy way out and said that she agreed with the report dated 2004!!!
Later in 2011 I submitted evidence covering the whole period 2004 - 2011 to the DWP which proved beyond doubt that the 2004 decision was completely wrong. Obviously the 2011 decision was 'hanging' on the 2004 decision and as the latter fell apart so did the former. In Nov 2011 the DWP awarded the benefit from Feb 2004 to Feb 2014 but could not pay it any further back than March 2011 (3 months before the claim was made).

The moral of the story is to never never believe or trust ATOS or their agents.

You are best to accept that it will be a fail. Then anything else when it comes out will be a bonus.

My wife's Attendance Allowance award is up for renewal in Jan. She currently has the highest day & night care award. I am genuinely expecting her to fail this time.

All awards are out of your hands & in the hands of the DWP & ATOS. Whatever happens will happen - personally I've gone past caring.

Andy?? You don't have to believe a thing. What I have posted actually happened, I know it & the DWP know it - that is all that really matters.
