Now TV or laptop

Options
Hello,

I am looking for a way to watch tv in my bedroom without the bother of an ariel. I have 2 options

1. Plugging my laptop into my TV and watching tv via i-player etc.
2. Getting a Now TV box which is only £10.

Would love any opinions on which would be the better option?

Thank you

Susanna

It depends on what you want to watch.

Plugging in your laptop (or just using your laptop ;)) would get you the main 'terrestial' channels and more using tvcatchup.com.

Just using Now TV would get you i-Player and not much more free of charge. For a monthly fee, you could get Sky Movies. For a daily fee, you could get Sky Sports.

I would say Laptop as it gives you access to more (ie Netflix).

I use my laptop hooked up to the tv. From what I can tell those Now tv boxes only advantage is to be able to not have the wires going to the tv when you want to watch iplayer.....
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

Got an old laptop hooked up to bedroom TV - Can watch all catch up channels plus Sky GO (in SD) via VGA/RCA audio connections. Also stream films via network from main hard drive.
