Help with Sky tv, please.

Options
I had my Sky installed on Thursday, but wasn't able to try it until yesterday. At first I couldn't get it out of standby (amber light) but then suddenly it worked and I was able to set some recordings before leaving home.

However, today, I have the same problem, again.

I have the tv working on it's own Freeview and it's set to HDMI1, which is the connection for the Sky box.

I've tried the on/off button on the keypad and the Sky button, but, besides the keypad light flashing no response from the box. I've tried on/off button, then Sky/Sky then on/off button, but nothing.

Am I doing something wrong or is the box faulty ?

Sorted. It was amber and after talking to tech help, would not alter, so I had to switch on and off at the socket, so it now works.

That's what I would have told you to do next. Unfortunately it happens now and again. If it happens frequently get them to come back out.

The Humax boxes freeze now and then, needing the same process, so I hope this going to be as infrequent.

The box froze again, overnight, but is fine after switching off at the socket again. I'm going to see how it performs, tonight, then contact tech again, if necessary.

According to the Sky forum, many people are having the same problem, but it seems to involve linking to their hub with either the free wifi boxes or using the new Sky box, which I have. However, mine is not connected to the hub (opening screen tells me so), as I'm waiting to use the new Sky one, when it goes live on Tuesday.
