I'd like to be there when you tell them why you want a refund ! Don't think you'll have much luck. Will you be doing much walking on wet tiled floors ?martinthebandit wrote: »Hmmm so if I understand this correctly you bought some shoes that are designed for use outside and your going to take them back and ask for a refund because they are not very good inside?
These comments strike me as a bit silly. What are you supposed to do when you're in the pub, or a shop, or the library, or any other public space? Take your shoes off?? Are you really suggesting that the gents' bog in your average boozer is a place you'd want to visit in your socks?

So, you'd expect a pair if ladies flat pumps to do as good a job on a hill walk as a pair if walking boots?
Sorry, it doesn't work like that.
If you want grip, avoid brands like DM or Cat. All fashion, little function. The best grip I had in walking boots was a pair of Zamberlans. They lasted about 10 years before disintegrating. Excellent in ice and snow, good in mud and indoors. The vortex liner ripped after about 8 years, but even when I threw them out, the soles were still in good condition.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -

Men can wear ladies pumps, or so I'm told.:D
But given that the OP didn't say they went "bottom over MOOB", but used a term for a part of the female anatomy, it may be a case that the queue for the ladies lav was too long, so she ran the gauntlet of the gents.
I think this is a very important point and that we need to have a big argument about it. :rotfl:1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

i have walking boots that i happened to wear on a wet, smooth floor recently, yes it was surprisingly slippery, but is that really 'unfit for purpose'?

Being pedantic, it's not 'word pedant'.
It would be more accurate to say 'grammar pedant'.:)

Different shoes/boots are designed for different surfaces. I had a very nice pair of Meindl walking boots and they were great when I was trekking up mountains, fine on grassy inclines, fine on rough rocks and indeed very grippy on slippery coastal rocks but I would slip in them on a pavement or indoor smooth surface.
They were designed as mountain boots not as pavement boots and they did that job very well, just like my trainers were very good for running on roads and pavements/pathways but terrible on mountain walks.0 -
Karrimoor used to be good. Cheap and nasty now. And op you aint getting a refund.0

If you kick off enough, you'll get a refund.
It really is usually as simple as that.0
